“One Screen, Endless Stories”
Nicole Anne is a person who loves to read Wattpad stories. She is always reading, even when she is at school or wherever she goes. Reading is what she does when she feels bored. When she is not reading, she video calls her boyfriend, who lives far away. They have been in a long-distance relationship for four years. She has a strong and confident personality. She can be quiet and focused when she is reading, but when she is not, she is very talkative and loud. Nicole is also jolly and loves to laugh, so she is not boring to be around.
When it comes to her relationship with her parents, they get along very well and treat each other like close friends. They enjoy eating out together, traveling, and doing many other activities as a family.
Nicole may also be romantic at heart, appreciating stories about love, friendship, and personal growth. She seems curious and open-minded, enjoying different perspectives through reading.
Discovering the Hidden Charm of Baybay City
1. The Sea of Clouds in Brgy. Villa Solidaridad, Baybay City, Leyte (often called the Eastern Sea of Clouds), is a breathtaking natural phenomenon where thick white mist blankets the mountain valleys at dawn, creating an ocean-like effect. Located high in the mountains, it is a popular, accessible tourism spot offering a cool, quiet, and scenic escape with views of sunrise and rolling hills.
2. Tan-awan Peak in Barangay Plaridel, Baybay City, Leyte, is a popular, underdeveloped hiking destination known as the "Little Batanes of Leyte" for its scenic, windswept grassy rolling hills. It offers panoramic views of the Camotes Sea, Cuatro Islas, and early morning seas of clouds.
3. Aya’s Hill & Amusement Park, known as the "Little Singapore of Leyte," is a one-hectare hilltop attraction in Brgy. Bitanhuan, Baybay City, featuring Singapore-inspired landmarks like a Merlion statue and Gardens by the Bay replicas. It offers a colorful, family-friendly atmosphere with a popular Rainbow Slide (₱100 for 3 turns), lush gardens, and scenic views.
SIGLAKAS 2019
Just like other schools, STI College Sta. Rosa organizes activities such as sportsfest. In our school, we call it “SIGLAKAS” that is held every month of December most specifically, a week before the Christmas break. Each strand has names to represent them namely Ranging Wolves for ABM, Titans for web, Dragons for STEM and CATOGAS for Culinary Arts, Tourism Operation and GAS. It is one of the most awaited activities of the students every year because everyone is able to exhibit their talent and passion for sports, even teachers.
The first day of SIGLAKAS was held last December 17, 2019. We started the event with a parade and torch lighting of the most valuable player for 2018’s SIGLAKAS which is Renato Mercado or also known as Ramjhay Mercado, a player from the business department. Games began to start and ABM strand took the lead of winning most of the games scheduled for the day. The crowd favorite is the basketball game of both senior high school students and college department. Students would scream their hearts out as they show their support for their schoolmates. Officers like us are one who is in-charge of the schedule, food for the players and whatever they may need.
For the second day, I am one of the players for the chess game scheduled on that day. I was really anxious about it because I only “know” how but I am not good at it. What kept me going is that I am with my best friend all throughout the game. It was fun because with all the errors I committed, I still won against my opponent which is from other strands. Again, it is one for the books. It is memorable for me because I tried something new and regardless of winning the game, I gained a new experience. On the third and fourth day there were only elimination and championship games for the winning teams.
It was a 4-day sportsfest filled with a lot of emotions but I know one thing for sure, everyone had fun and was able to showcase their skills. Also, my best friends won from their games and we all have medals. It was a very memorable event for me because even if it is tiring, I enjoyed my duty as an officer, was able to spend time with my friends and discover something about myself.
My school life
When I enrolled in STI College Sta. Rosa, I thought that I would not be able to enjoy my life as a student. I stand corrected; it was a turning point in my life. This is where I found my second home. Teachers took part in developing my skills and motivating me to always try something new and discover. Classmates did not just became friends but also family. School is where you enjoy, cram and learn.
My life as a student is fun and exciting. STI allowed me to discover more of myself. At first, I am having second thoughts about joining contests and participate in other school activities but it became one of my best memories in STI. Also, I became a part of the ABC, a club that organizes activities for the business department of senior high school students or also called as Accountancy and Business Club. I grew up being the shy-type and quiet one but everything changed when I became a part of this organization that later on became family. This allowed me to interact more with my schoolmates, participate in programs, and be in-charge of some events in school.
In addition, “cramming” is an eight-letter word that causes too much stress for students like me. Home works, projects, presentations, and deadlines are some of what makes the student life experience stressful yet worth it. These are requirements that are needed for you to pass throughout the semester and be able to enroll for the next one. For some reason, cramming never stays out from the picture. Most especially in doing research papers, it is when teachers are very strict when it comes to deadlines even in passing our research paper draft. We can’t help but cram because of so much pressure and expectation since we already took the subjects practical research 1 and 2.
Lastly, as a student it would not be complete if you didn’t learn after everything that you’ve been through. Experiences have a vital role in the process of learning. During my two years of studying in STI, I can say that I was able to discover more about myself. It is important to go out of your comfort zone because it will shape you to a much better person and allow you to have new experiences.
To sum it all up, my life in STI is different but worth the hardships faced. I was able to build relationships that later on became family; I discovered something about myself, was able to experience something new and most importantly, STI shaped me to be more disciplined and responsible. School will always be filled with fun, breakdowns and realizations despite all of that, I know that one day all will be worth it.
