You'll find friends and love among us, Sigma Psis we'll always be.
Two years ago today, I made without question the best decision of my college career. I chose to be a part of a group of women who have let me not just be myself, but improve and find myself each day that I am with them. I found a family that is an extension of my own, and that accepts with open arms the people I love. I found a safe harbor in a ridiculously confusing and disorienting storm, and I am so so much the better for it. I think in some ways that I have come to take for granted how lucky I am to have these women, and I truly cannot put it into words. I am unbelievably grateful for what I have found, and I cannot wait to begin sharing this with a new group of strong, independent women.
Recruitment is stressful, and I have wanted to punch people in the face far too many times over the last two weekends. But every concern I had dissolved the moment we began Fourth Party ritual, and I saw some of my best friends step forward to share themselves with all of the PNMs. Today I wasn't crying tears of sympathy or of sadness, but of happiness and pride. I will miss our graduating seniors immensely, and I am so glad that I have had the time with them that I did.
So here's to new sisters. To the beginning of a lifelong love that will connect us through time and space to women we've never met, but who hold dear all that we do. Here's to girls becoming women, to coming into their own and to making this chapter their chapter. Here's to green and gold, to sincerity, to faithfulness, to fidelity.
In the most earnest and sisterly love.
