James had walked into the grocery store, a long list in his hand. He had offered to go buy some supplies for the shelter due to the fact that they had just recently taken in a couple more boys and they ran out fast. He scanned the isles, grabbing bulk items and throwing them in the cart, humming as he went along. He wasn't really paying attention, and for that, his cart slammed into the back of someone, "Oh!" he gasped, "Shit, sorry, man." he said with a apologetic look, biting his lower lip hard, "You okay?"

well for one, let’s be real, they’re fuckin’ cuties. two damaged cuties looking for their own little pieces of nirvana. for twosies, age difference. he can give her perspective and kinda guide her and she has someone she can depend on. ALSO BODYGUARD AND PROTECTEE. as far as cons i’d say the age gap thing could also be a bit of a problem ‘cause they’d probably get looked at weird which is remedied by her punching said person in the face. also she’d either get attached quickly or detach completely. and of course there’s freddie’s judging eyes. they judge harshly.

honestly there aren’t a lot of people rocket wouldn’t have a one night stand with. the thing is, she hates being alone. loathes it. she’s been on her own most of her life and she just really wants to be taken care of. even if it’s just for one night. being in someone else’s bed means for one instance she can let her guard down. she doesn’t have to sleep with a gun under her pillow for once she’s fine.
