Escaping Theoric's grip to get out and mingle amongst the gathered crowds had taken longer than Sigyn anticipated.
In the end, she managed it by convincing her betrothed that she was going to find them some beverages. She did, in fact, find the beverages, took some for herself, and headed further away from Theoric to find someone else she knew. Nanna was here somewhere, and she had seen Loki skulking around as usual. Surely she could find one of them to entertain her. These sorts of events tended to be a dull affair when one was alone, and she would've rather spent it with people she at least knew she liked. As it were, those were few in numbers.
Moving easily between the many people scattered around the hall, Sigyn caught sight of something most curious: Loki was sitting across from Nanna, clearly engaging her in conversation. Sigyn had been under the impression that the two did not know each other, and somehow she doubted that Loki had good intentions in... whatever it was he was doing. With a frown on her face, Sigyn started moving slowly in their direction, hoping to pick up a bit of their conversation, or perhaps swoop in to interrupt. Normally she would find Loki's mischief, whatever it was, amusing, especially at times like this, but she was not about to let him hurt Nanna.
Yet as she approached, Sigyn became aware that she was not the only one watching this strange interaction. So too was Kàra, an old friend of Sigyn and Nanna's, whom Sigyn had not seen for some time. She hadn't expected to see her here, and the sight of her caught Sigyn off guard. She watched her watch them for a few moments before changing her course to make her way over to the young Einhenjar, quietly coming up beside her.
"Kàra," she greeted, incling her head at the other woman. "Enjoying yourself?"
