Camila considered Karen to be one of her best friends, if not her best friend. She admired the way the blonde made no apologies for how she saw the world or the way she lived her life. It was rare to find someone so talented and strong while also being so loyal and kindhearted.
They sat on the patio in her big backyard, sipping on a glass of wine. It was so rare that they got to spend alone time together those days. They talked about everything and nothing at the same time. Camila folded her legs underneath herself, looking at Karen across the way. "I love you; you know?"
‘ well, i love you more. ’ @siixth
"Mm..." she hummed as she took a sip of wine, a smile on her face. "I don't think that's possible, Karen.... But seriously... Thank you for being such a good friend. I don't know what I'd do if I had to deal with all of these guys by myself."

𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐍𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐑 𝐀 𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐄 where daisy jones had given into the fear of being outcasted. she had always remained unapologetically herself , or that was the perception of a girl she allowed to the rest of the world. but standing outside the studio , all her thoughts are on if she was good enough , if she could belong to the six. it was only one song. there was no proof , it would gain any traction , any airtime. but it was her one chance , and if she had managed to screw it up , to let teddy price down? she's all nerves , unable to stand still , waiting for taxi ride back to simone's. the words are in her throat , and she's dying to tell anyone , let all the excitement that's building in her go. it was the best night of her life , not the kind she's pretended to say before.
it's why when @siixth appears, she's eager with a warm smile and overly chatter banter. she can't stop herself from spilling words about how much she admires karen , about how the industry wants women like them to conform. but then there's karen, herself in a world made by men and their ideas of what a woman should be, and how she sounds. ❛ god , that was really, really cool. i've not ever really been in a studio like that. ❜ she's babbling on again. ❛ and what you did? getting the rest of the band to go away like that? thank you karen. ❜ it was that knowing glance , a brief moment between them. ❛ do all men listen to you like that? because i could use some tips if so. ❜
@siixth said ❛i had it under control. you didn’t need to do that.❜
rod was no stranger to opportunists in this business, and he certainly wasn’t a stranger when it came to record executives spying their chance when they thought no one else was listening. he’s quick to infiltrate the conversation between karen and the seedy executive high up the ranks at runner records, the kind of guy who thought barry manilow was the second coming of christ. it was safe to say, he didn’t know shit about music — and didn’t deserve to even think he had any kind of power over steering the band in a different direction.
he’s just as quick to tell him to fuck off when he makes a backhanded comment about women in rock music, passing the shove off as playful as he steers him in the other direction. “yeah, i know you did. whole thing would’ve been going on for another hour, and next thing you know you’re recording a cover of mandy.” he mumbled softly, pulling the cigarette from his lips.
@siixth said “you okay? caught you staring off into space.”
he’s high as a kite as he sits out on the porch overlooking the canyon, thoughts racing away with themselves. it wasn’t often that warren worried about anything or let himself think too deep into things, but the afternoon had taken an unexpected turn. billy had been carted off to rehab, the rest of the band waiting in the lurch to see what fate awaited them.
would they just fade into darkness when they were so close to reaching the top? it’s enough to make him question why they even moved out to los angeles in the first place — everything had once seemed so promising and now they felt as if they were hanging in the balance of one man’s actions.
turning to karen when she snaps him out of his thoughts he sighs softly, shrugging his shoulders slightly. “do you think you’ll ever regret taking a chance on us?”
“ just one more time. ” @ bones
for band, rehearsals tend to be a shit show. bones gets out scot-free. beyond lights and sound, there’s not much the crew can do to prevent the implosions on stage, when their concern appear to be more personal than technical. he watches from his booth, best seat in the house, occasionally considers what hobbies he could explore if his time wasn’t actively wasted until someone or two storms out. they are possibly his most productive moments, when an unlikely leader rises, this time in the form of the six’s very own keyboardist, making the right executive choices.
he respects the vision, and knows how to the deliver: a single spotlight illuminating the two ladies sat on the piano, pitch darkness around them. crisp audio courtesy of artie, a piano anthem that barely scrapes by the as a ballad. a final note, and they disappear. he finds he likes ‘a hope like you’, it’s different, unsullied by the syrupy fable morals nor disguised by the innuendos of the earlier songs. it’s self-explanatory. simple, but certainly not uncomplicated.
“ you’re the boss, karen. ” bones speaks into the mic, directly into her ear piece. she may not be close enough to make out his coy smile but the teasing lilt to his voice remains undistorted through the noise of the channel. caught enjoying himself, bones’ inner monologue of complaints is wiped clean. life can be a lot worse than getting paid to watch hot chicks play rock ‘n’ roll. “ from the bridge? or do you maybe wanna run the whole thing through by yourself? ” suggestions disguised as honest question. selfishly, he’s curious.
exes with feelings prompts.

𝐏𝐈𝐀𝐍𝐎 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐎𝐍𝐄 𝐎𝐅 𝐒𝐀𝐕𝐀𝐍𝐍𝐀𝐇'𝐒 𝐅𝐀𝐕𝐎𝐑𝐈𝐓𝐄 𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐒 𝐓𝐎 𝐏𝐋𝐀𝐘. it had always been an instrument that felt like home to her , but there was something about the way karen played that caught her attention.
❝ working on anything specific ? ❞ she asks , leaning in the door way of the fairly empty studio. ❝ it sounds amazing , whatever it is. ❞
eddie flickers the butt of his cigarette against the ground, karen's presence disturbing the silent environment of the motel's parking lot. the light above them is flickering every few minutes, the buzzing of the mosquitoes attracted to the light the only discernible sound. it had been a few hours since teddy and billy left for the hospital, unexpected and abruptly. communication with camila had quieted down after she found out about billy's cheating, and he couldn't even bring himself to blame her. he had betrayed her and her trust, plain and simple. but even with everything that had happened between them, eddie had a heavy heart thinking about camila, his childhood friend, giving birth all alone. despite wishing billy would make it there on time, something tells him he didn't. they're getting ready to go back to their house in california, after a ambiguous call from teddy assuring he would explain better once they were all together.
prompt : “ let's go home. ”
“ is everyone ready ? ” it had been a last minute call, forcing them to pack their things in the middle of the night, alongside most of their equipment for the concerts. none of them know what's really going on, but it's easy to assume the worst. eddie's not even sure what could be worse than showing up to your daughter's birth completely inebriated and under the influence of who knows what else. maybe that's just him. “ do you think camila's bringing her home immediately after ? ” he's talking about the newest member of the family. “ i don't think i'd know how to take care of a baby. ” it almost feels like they're awfully unprepared to welcome anyone into their house, let alone a newborn. it's not like they would be raising her when there are already two completely able parents, but still ... living together, he imagines they would have to help when necessary. “ i just hope she's okay. ” eddie finally admits, and he thinks karen might understand he's referring to camila.
