From the morning he woke up to that evening, Silas was in and out of tests, in and out of sleeping. When he was awake, he was exhausted, they told him it's because his brain was working overtime to rewire itself, yet he hated it. His speech was delayed, struggling to bring the words from his brain to his mouth, and he couldn't even do sign because his hands were shaky and his fingers struggled to fully listen to his brain either. Combined with the pain medicine and the muscle relaxers they gave him to help with a twitch in his legs that were bothering his injuries, he felt more foggy. He woke up again, this time his Umma next to him. "Um... Umma," he said softly.
