★★★ random factoids about Soilleag!
★ - Soilleag recently ate dirt. She didn’t find it totally disagreeable. Thanks for this life hack, Gemolo!
★ - Soilleag’s fave alcoholic beverage is a Tequila Sunrise. She got really drunk once in Lion’s Arch and discovered the next day it’s more like Tequatl Sunrise the morning after.
★ - One time, in a fit of excitement, she agreed to join some captain’s crew! As she was bouncing along towards the docks, the Lionguard stopped them to ask a few questions. She was strongly discouraged from the idea and, as she has trouble saying no to authority figures, Soilleag bounced right back to the Grove.
A fury of flowers were left for Soilleag as she recovered, containing simply: Azalea, Bird of Paradise, Daisies, and Lily of the Valley with a note simply saying '--N'
Azalea– Take Care of Yourself for MeBird of Paradise– JoyfulnessDaisy– Innocence, PurityLilly-Of-The-Valley– Sweetness, Return to Happiness, You’ve Made My Life Complete
“Wow.” Was all Soilleag could manage at the sight. It was so many impressive blooms! One hand covered her mouth, helping to hide the way she boggled at the arrangement. “This was so nice!”And when she looked at the note she lit up even more. Lips curved in a gentle smile, and she traced a finger over the azalea. “This way of sharing feelings suits you, Niall.”
3. How do they position themselves in a group? Do they like to be the center of attention, or do they hang back at the edges of a crowd? 15. What kind of inner life do they have — rich and imaginative? Calculating and practical? Full of doubts and fears? Does it find any sort of outlet in their lives? 24. How do they present themselves socially? What distinguishes their “persona” from their “true self”, and what causes that difference?
@silassedgewick GAH I’m so sorry. I only recently figured out that tumblr sends ask notifications to all your other activity instead of the red ping like it used to. So please accept my very overdue answers.
3. It depends on the group dynamics. Moss loveloveloves attention, so he will attempt to draw it to him whenever he can, but he’s also quite passive, so if the conversation steers to something he doesn’t know about/has no interest in, he tends to wallflower.
15. Moss is…very, very mean to himself. He worries that he’s an awful, fake person who is only pretending to be nice and good so that people will like him. He takes his mistakes too much to heart and it fuels his fears, so he’s either constantly overanalyzing every little thing he does or he does something thoughtlessly and berates himself when he gets called out. His journals will show just how all-or-nothing he can be about his own mistakes. He judges his own character far too harshly.
All that said, he’s also imaginative and creative. He loves stories of flight and fancy and heroics, classic good vs. evil stuff. Magic excites him. Romance too. When he’s in a good place, he’s always experimenting with magic and dreaming of a better place for sylvari. Those dreams are what drives him to be better than he believes he is.
24. The thing about Moss is that he has never been truly comfortable with himself, aside from the first weeks of his life. He has a very negative view of his “true self”, but the truth is that he doesn’t really know his true self.Ever since he was conscious of others, he has tried to mold himself to public perception. He attempts to be whatever someone needs him to be at the time or whatever will further his ambitions of goodness, leadership, and perfection.
Moss wants to be some sort of awe-inspiring, wonderful healer muse who is universally loved and devastatingly sexy but he is only a fallible young man who is trying his best. I think he has the potential to be many of the things he desires to be (within reason) and when he finally finds peace with himself and his cirumstances, then he’ll be a force to be reckoned with.
Fern: What is something you find mystical or supernatural?
“I’ve had a few encounters with ghosts in the past. I think it’s neat that some part of someone survives after their body dies. I’m not sure if my people have souls like other races do. Ghosts can be tragic though. I’ve noticed that most of them died in painful or violent ways. Sometimes, the spirits are angered and they attack the living. Like the Ascalonians, for example. They think they’re still at war. They can’t move on.”
Have you ever tickled a wendigo?
“...Yes.”
6, 10, and 20 for Wildstar Silas!
6:Most physical pain you’ve had to endure?
“Getting skewered–though I admit it landed just as much a blow to my pride. I was in the hospital for a time, and off active duty while I recovered. … Then Penny beat the shit out of me with some oranges.”
The Judge hitched a brow, lips pressed in a thin line.
Yes, oranges.
10:Someone who makes you happy effortlessly?
Silas coughed, shifting aside in her seat a touch. No punches pulled, were there?
“I… Yeah, there was. I didn’t think I’d have something like that again. Funny how a void can be filled like that, isn’t it? It’s not the same, exactly. … But yeah.”
20:You like to avoid… (finish sentence)
“Hugging. That has yet to actually work. You try and make it work around really huggy folk. I think some of them do it now just to spite me.”
16, 17, 18!
16:Ever been friends with someone you never knew the name of?
“… I’m not really one to attract anonymous friends or admirers. I reckon it’s a Judge thing? And hell, if I take a liking to someone myself, I do try and introduce myself one way or the other. It’d bother me, otherwise.”
Silas’ brows drew together in a faint pinch, apparently still mulling the former part of her reply.
17:Thoughts on death.
She cringed faintly, causing the length of her nose to crinkle just so.
What a loaded question.
“I’ve tiptoed that a bit, I’ll admit… had to get my head knocked back on straight by more than one person. But… hmn.”
“There was a time I’d tear up whatever is next inside out to drag a few souls back that were gleaned too soon, but now I try to look at it in a different light. We’re made of stars, afterall. Maybe in a way we return to that, somehow.”
18:Thoughts on life.
“Life is… life? It seems vastly unfair sometimes, but there’s so much to be said about the redemptive light of a person that keeps going, despite what hand’s been dealt to them.”
