tcypark BIPOC really need more from white aspiring allies than ❤️😢✊etc. A friend just told me about her Asian American friend getting verbally abused at an LA post office by a woman and NO ONE stood up for her. When a random man did intervene, IT WAS TO JOIN IN ON THE ABUSE.

Get some bystander training. Read up on de-escalation because it is damn near impossible for BIPOC to calm down angry racists themselves. DO SOMETHING.

Save Muslim Lives

I've seen people posting about BLM and Stop Asian Hate, but I haven't seen nearly enough about the growing Islamophobia everywhere; or the fact that the greatest mass incarceration since the Holocaust is happening to Muslims in China right now. So here are some facts to spread awareness and please reblog and make your own posts! To bend what Audre Lorde said, "I am not free while any person is unfree, even when their shackles are very different from my own."

In China, they are calling the concentration camps "education centers" while Muslims are being taken from their families and kept there for months to over a year. Survivors have reported being beaten and yelled at, prevented from using the bathroom, and hit with electric prods. Reports have said that children are being separated from their parents, people are being raped, tortured, and assaulted. President Xi Jinping said he wanted to "wipe them out completely" and employed mass sterilization and internment. Some people in the camps committed suicide. The government claims that they have released everyone, but many are still waiting for their loved ones to return.

In France, President Macron has been passing anti-Muslim laws for years now and is currently passing a ban on wearing the hijab for girls. Already there are laws allowing the government to interfere in mosques and any other Muslim-led organizations. Muslims can't homeschool their kids, choose doctors based on gender (for religious reasons or otherwise), and are being forced into secularist education. This has led to over a 50% rise in Islamaphobic attacks and over a 30% rise in attacks on mosques.

Please speak up! The U.S. is not exempt, and neither is anyone else. There has been a large rise in discrimination and attacks everywhere. If you are silent, you are part of the problem!

We must speak up and speak out, especially as white content creators and influencers. Something I’ve noticed is the talk about providing an “escape” from bad times on social media. Okay, I get that self-care is important. But it’s not about you.
