Hello Everyone! Zee here from @thewanteddepths here for today’s #passthecosplaymic I created The depths as a way to explore what mermaiding and ocean based fantasy could be. We (Scarlet and myself) started shooting before anyone even had tail haha. I love photography and I love creating characters to become and perform as, but most of all I love storytelling. It’s a big passion of mine and I make sure every image we take has a story behind it or can tell a story itself. We began professionally shooting around a year ago and were taken by storm. Ideas and dreams flooded our minds and we’ve been creating ever since. I think it’s important to make your voice known. This is how I choose to use mine. To build, to design, to speak in ancient tongues, to create. I plan on using my voice and skills with storytelling to help change the world for the better. Ask anyone and they can tell you I grew up an incredibly curious and adventurous soul. I slept in trees, hunted down wild beasts (frogs, lizards, and worms) like Steve Irwin, and was graced with quite the imagination. That lovely imagination got me into way more trouble than I’ll ever admit but it also led me to where I am today. My fantasies of daring sword fights, mystical mermaids, fairies, and distant lands aren’t just stories anymore. It’s the life I’m living. “We don’t do that” turned into “I can do that.” Prior to mermaiding I took on many challenges and hobbies. From wilderness survival to firearts you name it I’ve probably tried it, or throughly about trying it. I’m doing my best to fill my life with experiences that not only bring joy into my life but to anyone that happens to cross my path. Tiva always dreamed of life under the sea, and her mermaid dreams came true when she was given a necklace that unlocked her shapeshifting abilities. She enjoys spending time at the beach listening to the stories the waves bring her and sharing some tall tales of her own. Prior to diving into the world of mermaids, Tiva studied world dance at Santa Monica College and was a founding member of Raqs Nouveau, a tribal-fusion belly dance troupe. She has performed world-wide as a soloist visiting far off lands such as Perth, Australia, and most recently with the group Global Motion in Beijing.
