Naruto taking place in a time period roughly analogous to the 90's doesn't get enough attention despite the potential for sheer chaos it offers so I'm including some of the tech in Making Friends, namely as a way for everybody to keep in contact with their friends from other villages (or traveling between villages) without being accused of treason.
By which I mean: Gaara, henge'd to look kinda like Sasuke but with Naruto's coloring, walking into Suna's civilian library, settling down at their public-use research computer, and logging into his AIM account under the name Blood_And_Sand to send a message to his friends in Konoha.

Logically Haku and Zabuza would also be using transformations but the mental image of Zabuza Momochi shirtless with Kubikiribōchō strapped to his back all his bandages wrapped around him standing in the computer section of a public library is going to make me lose it
Zabuza is like hunched over Haku's shoulder squinting suspiciously at this newfangled communication box.
Back in his day if you wanted to get a message to someone quick you'd kill somebody from their village. It's like kids these days have no sense of culture.
