Interviewer: I think that you had one misunderstanding in practice once? Alesi: It's not a misunderstanding! Let me start, let me start, because— Berger: You know what, I’m going to the bathroom! (laughs) Alesi: Because with Gerhard, we have the same stories but a different way to explain. Berger: You know, I would recommend: we have two offices here, make the interview with him in one and with me in the other, you’ll put them together and then you’ll have a proper video. Alesi: We had these stupid rules: 12 laps in qualifying. It was very easy to understand when the last run was. On my last run, I crossed the finish line and my engineer went: "You’re on pole but wait, Gerhard is behind". And when Gerhard crossed the finish line, the engineer, Lunetta, said "Fantastic! Pole position!". So I opened my seat belt, came out of the car a little bit with the public cheering, it was fantastic. And suddenly, before Ascari, I see a bullet in my mirrors. Really, I don’t know how I saw it. So I jump back in the car and I thought, "Left or right?" and I went on the wrong side, he was already passing, because Mister Berger was upset not to be on pole and he wanted to ride to the pit. And then I was a spectator: a massive accident, I thought, "Shit, I killed him". I looked, he was moving a bit, I thought "Okay, he’s okay". I went back to the pits, Jean Todt was very upset, all the mechanics, "What's happened, what's happened" because they didn't show the accident and on the replays it really looks like he's coming and I'm doing like that (indicates a car cutting across), you know, so everyone was like "But why did you do that?" "I didn't see him, I was cruising!". And then I went to the hospital and Gerhard— (laughs) It's a shame I didn't take a photo. Berger: Yeah, thank you very much! Alesi: I need to have a photo of you like that. It looked like he finished the Paris-Dakar, dirt everywhere (laughs). Interviewer: (to Berger) And your part of the story? Berger: He did it on purpose! [x]
the accident in question:
Type of interview I think is funny
Interviewer: So Mr Director are you going to be making a sequel to your iconic film Stand Alone?
The Director: No, literally never, fuck that.
Gia Miller.
