Asia is over and the three of us are watching TFA while drinking and we are literally just loudly complaining about how lithe Kylo is not, constantly dragging General Sucks, and how great Finn is despite ending up in ships with people who do fucking crazy ass shit while flying.

currently it is only in our heads and hearts and it’s disaster because everything fits TOO WELL, but for you, the highlights of the benpoe and finnrey FFX AU of our dreams:

Ben is a summoner, very powerful and trained as both a white and black mage. He’s known his fate since he was very young. He doesn’t remember learning it.

Poe is one of his guardians. They grow closest along the way. 

Ben increasingly resents the path laid out for him and questions the use of it, if Sin will only return.

They learn the truth of the Final Summoning on the last leg of the pilgrimage. Poe would volunteer to be the guardian chosen to be made into a fayth. He was young the last time they had one, but he remembers what a Calm means to people. 

But Ben disappears without a trace before they can make it to the Chamber of the Fayth. None of his guardians can find him. Without a summoner, there is no hope of defeating Sin. They return.

Several years later, Ben’s cousin Rey is preparing to begin her own pilgrimage. Poe agrees to join her group of guardians due to his experience and his desire to see it through this time and save the lands from Sin.

Chewie is a Ronso and also a guardian.

Near the outset of their journey, they meet a strange young man named Finn.

(Finn is a dream of the fayth, because we enjoy suffering in our hopeful romance, apparently.)

Hux is probably the Seymour of this fiasco, because a motherfucker would.

The thing is, Ben found out another truth about the Final Summoning – specifically, what happens after Sin’s defeat, and how the final aeon becomes the new Sin. That is why he left – furious, jaded, and terrified that even if he told everyone the truth, Poe would still insist it was for the best for a short peace, or people would just assume he was a selfish, lying coward. Embittered, he vanished, changed his name, and has abandoned all Summoning duties, even Sending. He almost exclusively uses his skills as a black mage now.

Furious when he hears his cousin is embarking on the foolishness of a pilgrimage, he decides to come out of hiding and try and chase them off the notion. Little does he expect Poe to be there. 

Cue: Reunion fights. Reunion makeups. Reunion kisses. (Because it’s my story and I do what I want with it.)

Then they gotta figure out how to defeat Sin for reals

I’m gonna stop here before I spiral into how this absolutely spirals further into a finnrey ffx-2 type quest for rey and finn to reunite, because that’s who we are as people
