Framing in preparation for a charity art sale. Three woven pieces and a mixed media artwork.
Finished, both the cloth and the scarf.
Linen scarf with some silk jaspé.
Completely Finished - at long last.
Silk jaspé and mercerised cotton weft on silk jaspé, linen and hemp warp.
It isn’t possible to get a true plain weave with a dornick twill draft but here I am trying out the twill pattern as figuring on an almost plain weave ground. New pick up stick 🙂
Using up the last 18” of the warp with other colours. Always interesting to see how the colours in the warp and weft ‘mix’ in the eye.
Linen, hemp, silk jaspé warp and predominantly linen weft.
Threading up - each thread goes through the eye of a heddle. There are around 300 heddles.
Tencel, linen, silk jaspé
Some progress
I managed to weave a bit more to this rather time intensive piece - messy and there’s a mistake.
