Frankly, Alec was appalled that she would suggest he was hiding something so insidious. Granted he was no longer the innocent older brother she used to know and love, and granted he was (and she) was bred for the purpose of slaying demons, but to suggest that he was hiding unsavory content or decapitated someone!
No, his secret was so much more sinister – and by “sinister” he meant mortifying.
