Rewatching the last scene of S3 got me thinking — Simon doesn’t seem like the type of person to say 'I love you' easily. I feel like he only says it to a very few people in his life, and only to those who have truly earned that honor. And the fact that he said it to Wille 4 times in canon (and who knows how many more in between) really shows how important Wille is to him, beyond all the drama they went through.
