Ok so I recently ended up re-watching studio ghibli pom poko as well as some guardians of the galaxy animated episodes.

Which led to this thought:

imagine being part of the guardians of the galaxy, and for whatever reason you get the intro song from pom poko stuck in your head and you end up humming it a lot around the ship. For those who don't know/ haven't seen the film it goes like this: Mr raccoon Mr raccoon Won't you play with me somehow?

No I can't I'm eating dinner now

What's for dinner I want some

I am eating pickled plums

Can't I have a little crumb

Don't be such a greedy bum GET YOUR OWN

Which escalates to singing it while rocket is around, just as a way to tease him and get on his nerves which it does (not to mention you wanted to test to see if he would inadvertently sing back like in the film). Until one day you start singing it and rocket joins in. by the end of the song your grinning like a loon and rocket is denying it ever happened.
