(Sometimes I stop and wonder what it would be like if Gray called and asked Silver how things were going with the team and if he found out about how dysfunctional a team they are
I'd bet that he'd march down to the school campus and put team SLVR through basically teamwork boot camp to get them to properly get along and function as a team)
(So this just sort of popped in my head regarding the post about Silver I made late last night
A bit of a father-son talk that most likely happened back before he met his teammates (basically it’s a pre-RWBY:CMYK moment))
“Maybe I’m just not cut out to make friends. Any time I try to I always fail at it. All these years and still no luck.” Silver commented, arms crossed as he leaned against a nearby tree.
“As I keep telling you, that day’s bound to come eventually. You just have to hang in there and wait. Friendships just don’t happen instantaneously like you think.” Gray, Silver’s foster father, hinted as he cleaned his sword.
“At the moment I’m starting to wonder if there’s even a point in making friends. What’s to say that even if I do make friends, that they won’t just up and ditch me? I’ve been on my own without friends for a long time Pops, maybe I actually don’t need them.” Silver let out a light groan.
Gray sighed deeply, and placed his sword back into its sheath. He knew he didn’t raise the kid to be so stubborn. He got back up onto his feet and walked over to where Silver was, followed by grabbing him by his shirt collar.
“Now listen to me son, and listen good. Take a good look at me.. Does it look like things turned out great when I was on my own without friends? I’m pretty much completely blind in my right eye because I had nobody to defend me when I was about your age. That’s not even the half of it. If I didn’t have friends, I most likely would’ve either died from the blood loss of losing my leg, or been finished off by the beowolf the took it off.” He paused to take a deep breath.
“Point is, you need friends whether you really think you do or not. Just keep waiting and you’ll find your friends. When you finally do find them, you’ll realize just how important they are to you.” He gently let go of Silver’s shirt.
“Yeah, you have a point there Pops. I’ll try not to give up.” Silver responded.
“I knew you would son.” Gray then patted Silver on the shoulder.
(I just had this thought of Silver struggling to make friends growing up. He never quite grew to have the proper social skills to communicate with others, hence why nowadays his default mood is grumpy. Like as a kid he’d try to make friends but then the slightest thing would cause him to lash out, basically causing the other kids to want to avoid him.
Growing up a loner basically gave Silver the mindset that he’s never going to be able to have any close friends. It also adds to why he tends to keep to himself and refuses to confide in his teammates when something is bothering him.
In a sense, his temper is like a defense mechanism to hide how sensitive he truly is on the inside.)
(I don’t know why, but I have a feeling that if Silver was in love with someone, he wouldn’t casually admit his feelings, they’d most likely come out like ‘I love you dammit!’)
(Silver tends to keep to himself most of the time, and it takes a lot for him to open up to others (especially when it comes to his more happy side). If someone he’s opened up to acts negatively towards him, he can just as easily close himself back off from them.)
(For the most part Silver isn’t super affectionate (It’s not that he didn’t get enough growing up, he just hasn’t adjusted to it when it comes from others), but I can’t get the thought out of my head of him eventually caving and giving in when it comes to friends, particularly female faunus friends because he’s not into hugging his guy friends, like if they needed a shoulder to cry on he’d be there for them or if they randomly wanted to hug him he wouldn’t mind
Whenever the time comes that his demiromantic ace butt gets into a romantic relationship, he’d be way more open to affection)
(I remember Lex said CMYK story wise that there would be some sort of school dance, and I can’t get the thought out of my head of how Silver would be dressed
I can just picture him wearing a suit, but not wearing it all neat and tidy like he’s supposed to
His jacket wouldn’t be buttoned up, his shirt wouldn’t be tucked in, and his tie would be like hanging from his neck not fully fastened to his shirt collar (to quote Sun: “stupid neck trap.”)
Silver doesn’t even wear the cram school uniform correctly, I can’t see him wearing formal wear correctly
Lonan would be like “This is a dance, wear your suit properly.”
Silver would respond like “I don’t even want to go to this dance in the first place. Since I’m going to be forced to go, I’m going to dress how I want to.”
tbh I came close to picturing Silver dressed similar to Sun since they’re both from Vacuo and ‘it’s not exactly a shirt and tie kinda place’)
This time it’s one tied to one of my OC Team SLVR’s members

Details about Gray’s life
How Gray got his scar on his right eye:
When he was a teenager, Gray got into a physical fight with a man who was racist against faunus. A dagger the man was armed with ended up slicing him right on the right eyelid, and resulted in him not just getting a scar, but cost him most of his eyesight in that eye.
How he lost his left leg:
After losing his brother to a Grimm attack, Gray couldn’t control his temper. He was filled with so much anger among other negative emotions that he couldn’t even focus on his job as a huntsman. In the end, a beowolf attacked him and he lost his leg in the process.
Relationship with Silver:
While Gray was out in a forest carrying out his duty as a huntsman, he stumbled upon Silver. Silver was only around five years old at the time. After finding out Silver was an orphan, Gray decided to raise him as his own. As time went on, their relationship bonded into a father-son relationship. As Silver became a teenager, Gray became his mentor and taught him how to build and wield his weapon.
