Funny thing is that while in DAWTDE all the eyes are pointing at Derek, in TADC they're pointing to the opposite direction.

I have been reflecting on something recently. Years ago a writer I admired said that he didn't think he was good at writing, and I wondered for a long time how he could post his fics while thinking that they weren't expecially good. Turns out that I liked those fics. Of course, they weren't perfect, they were far from being among my faves, but they still had something to say. The author still had something to say! And with time he even got better at writing. His stories aren't perfect yet, but he keeps posting them anyway because other people resonate with them. Somehow this motivates me a lot. Maybe I'll never be as good as the writers I admire and like, but I'm as good as me and no one else has my voice. It's nice to bring into the world something new, even when it's not perfect because no one else can do that for me.

Writing Update! #4

Hello! I have news about What You Deserve :D About WYD: Right now I've written up until chapter 39 and the story is going on like I planned, but... I've been reconsidering some future plot points, so the planning might take longer than I expected. About WYD's spinoff (?): I also tried to write a couple of side chapters about a certain character's backstory. They were meant to be only character exploration but they turned into a (currently) 5 chapter long fic, about 40 pages long. I think I'll post it as a spinoff in the future, but I'm still not sure when to do it. This one is not even the only spinoff I'd like to write, but step after step I'll figure out what to do with my ideas I think! Whumptober: I also wanted to partecipate in whumptober, writing short fics about Townsend's mercenaries, but I've been very busy lately, so I think it might be better if I just stuck to the main plot (+the spinoff) and think about writing challenges later :P

About my writing in general: I've been re-reading the first chapters and man. They're so silly and aimless, and it isn't even a bad thing, I was having so much fun while writing them months ago. I noticed that the story as a whole is full of little spelling and grammar mistakes -I'm not a native english speaker, so sometimes I still get something wrong-, conitinuity errors, and also little plot holes. The plot errors bother me more than the rest, because they'd be easily fixable but at the same time, going back to fix them all and repost all the first chapters both here and on AO3 would be a looot of work and well, I'm writing for fun! So I think that I'll leave the job to the time when I will feel like it. If you don't love me at Chapter 2. Dirty cleansing (part 1), you don't deserve me at Chapter 30. Under control, am I right? Oh, did I just spoiler the next chapter's title? Oopsiee Anyway I hope you are doing fine and thank you for reading this far :) Have a nice day!

Writing Update! #3

Hello everyone!

I think that i might take a small hiatus from What you Deserve.

It's been two weeks since the last time I wrote a single word on my doc, but i can't bring myself to do more. I know exactly what happens next in the story but I don't have enough energy to sit down and actually make it happen like i did in the past months.

I going through a very tough moment in my life, my mind is in a very bad place and while I was usually able to catalyze my negative emotions into whump, this time I find myself a bit overwhelmed. I keep spiraling.

I might still post a chapter or two, but maybe then I should take some time to recover before going back to writing. Meanwhile, if you want to ask questions about the story or the characters, my ask box is open!

Also! Very few people left some positive comments on my work and that makes me happy every day, so I wanted to spend this last part of the post to thank them. Their feedback has been a big boost for my motivation! :D
