ooooh how about a kaishin ‘the martian’ au!
if you’ve never seen or read ‘the martian,’ here’s a synopsis: an astronaut becomes stranded on mars after his team has to leave him due to a storm. they assume he’s dead, but it turns out he’s alive and now he’s got to survive on the planet alone on nothing more than potatoes, science, and sheer determination. after the team finds out he’s still alive they agree to go back and get him.
i’d assign the astronaut role to shinichi probably, and kaito as a member of the team or even the captain? i’m not sure, there’d have to be some reworking of the movie/book plot but yeah. it’d be a slow burn, slice-of-life-esque sort of fic with lots of drama and angst, some injury, and fluff at the end!
