Mirabelle, worried: Are you sure? If you'd rather have Bonnie share a tent with you, we could-

Nille, looking away: I said it's fine. It's good for them to have people they can trust to keep them safe.

Isabeau, worried: Pétronille, you know that includes you, right?

Nille, looking away: Sure

Isabeau, smiling and concerned: They're worried about Sif right now, but that doesn't mean they care about or trust you any less.

Nille, eyes closed: Obviously. I know they’ll never stop caring about me.

Nille, clutching her shirt, frustrated: Even if I mess up. They'll still care, and care, and it'll just hurt all the more because they trusted me and I still couldn't keep them safe.

Nille, starting to cry: I just- I'll just have to do better next time- I'll take classes, I’ll get stronger, so I can actually protect them-

Mirabelle, determined: And we’ll help!

Nille, looking up, still teary:

Mirabelle, smiling gently: You don't have to do it alone anymore. We can help each other get stronger, and we can protect them together.

Nille, looking away, still teary: Okay.

Mixed media statue of unknown origin, on display in a House of Change on Vaugarde’s northern coast.

i’ve been wanting to draw a depiction of The Universe inspired by this vintage brooch, and ofc once i actually sat down to do it i got a little carried away.. i love my universe headcanons. i imagine the body of this statue is fabric over stuffing over wood and/or metal, with a couple key hinges so you can push the arms out/up to make more space for yourself, and once you get out of the way again they’ll fall back into their original position. the clothes are real clothes, and ofc the face is a mirror, in a silver frame with glass decorations. and all the fabric has craft worked in to help preserve it.
