Exploring dry brush techniques today. Skimming the Silver Black Velvet brush over the cold-press texture gave the broom bristles that perfect, scratchy, worn-in look.

Using my new adorable little @artisticisle.watercolor Fall Primaries Set 2, which includes: Indian yellow Quinacridone (a new favorite!!) Azure Tahiti Scarlet Hematite Marine Blue Made a quick sketch in my @fieldartista 5x5 Watercolor sketchbook I bought 2 @silverbrushltd a while ago and I haven’t really had a chance to try them out. I was pleasantly surprised. They have more bounce than I thought they would. I’m using the Silver Black Velvet rounds in #6 and #10 The #6 comes to a finer point than it looks like it would. Not tiny enough to paint my lady’s face, but I was just testing it out. About last night. Tried a different approach than my usual technique in watercolor painting that it almost looked acrylic in person *facepalm*. This treatment is just way too thick for me. Not to mention that the paint I used (White Nights) is somehow set to "autothick" by default. Will have to learn more on this and do more studies and experiments on it.
