“i like your hair,” jennifer comments non nonchalantly. she keeps her other items close, but her gaze is wavering between peter and the box; “it’s cool. so do you have a name, or are you just the guy that works here?” her mouth curls into a playful smirk, “i’m jennifer.”

not to be sensitive or anything embarrassing like that, but — could he think of literally any other way to have said that? yeah, sure, there’s a ghost standing in front of him, but fuck. dying was awful, and being dead is even worse. it’s definitely not fucking awesome.

“i think you should sit this one out ...” she could do a lot worse than having a super speedster on her side. even arguing the danger is moot; a man that can outrun bullets doesn’t have to worry about the number of gangsters on the scene. it feels wrong to exploit peter’s abilities for her own gain, though this appears to be a genuine offer on his behalf. 

“thanks for the offer peter but — i think this is something i’ll have to do on my own. i’ll call you when ...” if. “i get back.”

—          SHE LOOKS AT him, raises a brow, then turns back to stirring the pot on the stove with a shrug of her shoulders.     ❝ what would be so bad about it?  i think it would be nice.  to take a break. ❞     she replies.  a holiday or maybe a permanent vacation from all of it.  would it be so awful to leave this life?     ❝ greece is nice, hecate would welcome us, perhaps even show us around.  or somewhere in england.  maybe france.  scotland. ❞     she trails off a little bit after listing places off.  she’d like to travel, not have to worry about the whole hero business, if only for a little while.     ❝ perhaps thinking of living away in some little cottage or something is a bit much at the moment.  but someday would be nice. ❞     she doesn’t add ‘hopefully soon’.
