Annual Picture - Silver Bus House

This year, we have to pull back a bit . . . because that Earthbag building is getting BIG!

From the top, 2015 2016 2017 2018 and now we add June 2019

Aside from the obvious awesome structure now showing it’s size, my favorite update is - no AC unit on the roof! Yay!! See that white box in the other pics? And now, finally, it’s gone. It was not functioning and was quite heavy, but it couldn’t be removed until we were ready to patch it up right. All is smooth and lovely up there now. Ahhh.

There is so much more room for activities!

We are truly happy to announce that after 3 years of working on/off on it ( while living in it ) . . . we’ve completed the built-ins for the Silver Bus House. Yay!

This is the front section of the house, our Lounge. It’s for hanging out, sitting at our desks, toy storage, even has a cat food cubby. And now it’s also got a moveable table for dining!

It’s always amazing how much more storage you get with one big, well-planned unit as opposed to many little units. We measured and built each shelf with care, knowing just what would be stored there. Also, the gorgeous natural materials - wood, baskets, stone and metal, keep the house unified in a neutral palette. And our renovated 1955 school chairs are working great in this space. It’s versatile, lovely and best of all - completed.

Our beloved Silver Bus House - Annual summer picture.

From the top; 2017 - We look all tucked in with growth around us. The grasses even cover the mound of earth behind the SBH. Even the Earthbag house is growing! 2016 -  The new shower hut, and Earthbag house appearing from the ground. 2015 - This was taken about 2-3 months after we arrived on the land. What a sweet little set-up, and the bamboo shower hut was darling.
