Lord Magnus pinched the bridge of his nose, letting out a huff of breath that this was his son. His young, irrational prince had probably learned a little too much from his father. Erik owned up to that. “You can’t just banish people you don’t like, Peter,” he told him seriously. “Not when they are important allies in our treaty with the Atlanteans! We’re going to have to invite the countess back, and apologize until our faces turn as blue as your friends, do you understand that? You’ve brought shame on our names by doing this!”

Kurt saw the second that Peter went down, and immediately knew that he had to get out of here. He threw off the man that had attacked him, throwing him into the one behind him, and so managed to get enough space to bolt to Peter’s side. He grabbed his arm and in a burst of energy, got them back to the mansion.

“Peter!” he cried, shaking him a little. “Peter, vake up!” He quickly started trying to check him for major wounds, trying not to panic as he did so.

“Do you see that?” The King leaned towards the young Prince, blue eyes cast towards a man on the other side of the room and kept his voice down. Since Lord Magnus had taken control of the city of Genosha roughly twenty years ago, the place was thriving. Or so Erik liked to believe it was. Perhaps the human quarter wasn’t doing as well, but that was hardly his concern. Erik’s job was to take care of his country, his people, and above all, his son.

Today was a particularly high class birthday party, which Erik had agreed to attend with his heir. There had been some concern about a human uprising, but that wasn’t of much worry to his majesty. If they were any real threat, they would have gotten closer to him by now. And he couldn’t exactly be viewed cowering in any circumstance, or he could lose respect in the public eye.

Though at the moment he wasn’t so much focused on his duties, as the ridiculous cloak one of the socialites was wearing. “Man looks like a damn tent in that thing. I feel like he’s going to open it up at any moment and let out an elephant and a couple trapeze artists.”
