Faltando menos de 1 mês para a South Bound Tour, a Solid Music nos convidou para fazer uma série de entrevistas com as bandas da turnê e nada melhor do que começar essa série com o headliner, a banda Silverstein!

Silverstein é uma banda canadesnse de post-hardcore formada em 2000, a banda vem ao Brasil pela 3ª vez em junho para a South Bound Tour que passará por Curitiba (02/06 ao lado das bandas The Word Alive e For The Fallen Dreams) e São Paulo (03/06 com as bandas The Word Alive e For The Fallen Dreams e Depois da Tempestade). 

Antes de qualquer coisa gostaríamos de dizer que estamos muito feliz e honrados pela oportunidade e gostaríamos de agradecer a confiança que a Solid Music tem depositado em nós e também ao apoio de todos vocês! 

Mas agora vamos ao que importa, esperamos que vocês gostem da entrevista e pra quem quiser, a entrevista original em inglês vai estar no fim do post.

We Are Fearless: Em 2015 vocês dividiram o palco com a banda Beartooth e tocaram juntos como “SilverTooth”, há alguma chance de isso se tornar algo real e vocês lançarem algo juntos?

Shane: Ei, você nunca sabe! Beartooth são nossos melhores amigos e adoramos ficar juntos, então talvez pudéssemos ir ao estúdio algum dia! Claro que há burocracia com as gravadoras e tudo isso, mas enquanto não curtimos e bebermos demais, acho que poderíamos fazer algo muito legal! SilverTooth Vive.

WAF: Ouvi dizer que vocês estão lançando um novo álbum ainda este ano, o que podemos esperar disso? Algo nunca visto antes?

Shane: Estamos trabalhando nas músicas e realmente tendo uma abordagem mais envolvida. As músicas são impressionantes e algumas são muito diferentes… Outras são o Silverstein clássico, o que é legal também. Vamos ver quais músicas acabam no álbum mas estamos muito animados. Estávamos tentando começar de onde paramos com “Ghost” (nossa última música), foi uma das nossas músicas favoritas que escrevemos.

WAF: Sobre este novo álbum, há algum single completamente diferente de qualquer coisa que vocês já tenham lançado?

Shane: Bem, você vai ter que esperar e ver, mas eu vou dizer, eu acho que certamente haverá algo diferente lá.

WAF: Depois de tantas vezes no Brasil, como você se sente em voltar? Podemos esperar algo especial para esta turnê como um setlist exclusivo? 

Shane: Esta é a nossa terceira vez! É muito divertido no Brasil, os fãs são ótimos. E sim, a setlist está sempre mudando para que seja especial para o Brasil. Nós não viemos para cá freqüentemente, assim queremos ter um show longo e agradável com uma grande variedade de canções diferentes de diferentes álbuns.

WAF: Depois de 17 anos, como vocês mantêm a essência da banda viva para continuar fazendo álbum e turnês como se fosse a sua primeira vez? 

Shane: Nós REALMENTE gostamos do que fazemos. É nosso objetivo constantemente trabalhar mais duro e ser melhor com cada um álbum, com cada turnê. A banda não vê isso como um trabalho. Não se sente como um trabalho. É divertido, e eu acho que enquanto ficamos mais velhos nós realmente começamos a ter ainda mais diversão. E eu mal posso esperar para voltar ao Brasil.

With less than a month left for the South Bound Tour, Solid Music invited us to do a series of interviews with the bands of the tour and nothing better than starting this series with the headliner, the band Silverstein!

Silverstein is a post-hardcore band formed in 2000, the band comes to Brazil for the 3rd time in June for the South Bound Tour through Curitiba (06/06 alongside the bands The Word Alive and For The Fallen Dreams) and São Paulo (03/06 with the bands The Word Alive and For The Fallen Dreams and Depois da Tempestade).

First of all we would like to say that we are very happy and honored by the opportunity and would like to thank the confidence that Solid Music has placed in us and also to the support of all of you!

But now let’s get down to business, we hope you enjoy the interview!

We Are Fearless: In 2015 you guys shared the stage with Beartooth and played together as “SilverTooth”, there’s any chance to this become something real and you guys release something together?

Shane: Hey you never know! Beartooth are our best friends and we love hanging out together, so maybe we could hang out at the studio sometime! Of course there’s red tape with the labels and all that, but as long as we didn’t party and drink too much, I think we could make something very cool! Silvertooth Lives.  

WAF: I heard that you guys are releasing a new album later this year, what can we expect from this? Something never seen before? 

Shane: We’re working on the tunes and really taking a more involved approach. The songs are awesome, and some are very different… others are pretty classic Silverstein which is cool too. We’ll see which songs and parts end up on the album. But we are very excited. We’re trying to start where we left off with “Ghost” (our latest song), it was one of our favorites we’ve written.  

WAF: About this new album, there’s any single completely different from anything that you guys already released? 

Shane: Well you’re going to have to wait and see, but I will say, I think there will definitely be a few curveballs on there.  

WAF: After so many times in Brazil, how do you feel to come back? Can we expect something special for this tour like an exclusive set list?

Shane: This is our third time! It’s really fun in Brazil the fans are so great. And yes, the set list is always changing so it will be special for Brazil. We don’t come down there that often, so we want to give a nice long show with a wide variety of different songs from different albums. 

WAF: After 17 years, how do you guys keep the essence of the band alive to keep making album and tours like it’s your first time? 

Shane: We REALLY enjoy what we do. It’s our goal to constantly work harder and be better with each album, with each tour. The band doesn’t feel like work. It doesn’t feel like a job. It’s fun, and I think as we’ve gotten older we’ve actually started having even more fun. And I can’t wait to be back in Brazil!
