Let's learn about Amethyst!

Amethyst the Cat is my Sonic sona. She's very much so based on myself and is a self insert character! I'd like to explain some lore and her relationship with Silver.

Amethyst is a seemingly normal girl with a normal life. She goes to university, she loves shoujo manga and music, and is even an underground idol! When she meets Sonic for the first time, however, she suddenly realizes something isn't right. She cannot recall her upbringing, her childhood, her family, or anything else about her life. It feels like she was just... placed in the world.

It turns out, this is true. Amethyst was manifested by a chaos emerald, and was thus never truly "born". Why did this happen...? Is everything she's ever experienced a lie? She wasn't really able to understand it at first, but it seems the chaos emeralds were so fascinated by Sonic and his freedom, that they wanted to live real lives as people too.

Now what's her thing with Silver all about?

Amethyst did not recall her identity as a chaos emerald right away. She eventually meets Silver and feels a natural gravitation and attraction towards him. At first she recognized this as a simple crush, but then started to remember more about herself while around Silver, so she started following him around more.

She gets to know Silver and is so surprised to see how many wonderful things about the world he has never experienced. Because of this, she vows to him she'll show him everything she knows... but, she slowly starts to realize that everything she really knows are simply false memories...

When coming to the epiphany that she is a chaos emerald, she freaks out. She worries if everything she has felt was a lie, especially her love towards Silver. However, Silver reassures her that her feelings are absolutely real, and that she was created for a reason. Amethyst remembers that the driving force for her manifestation was to give and to receive love. Her and Silver finally get together after this, and Amethyst regains her true and enlightened form as a chaos emerald.

She normally chooses to stay in her "normal" form, but she sometimes has to transform into her enlightened state if the situation calls for it. Amethyst can live in any time, past, present, and future. When Silver travels back to his time, she is there to happily greet him. I'd advise not to think about anything paradox-y too much, lmao... She is a chaos emerald, she can do whatever she wants as one of the seven chaos!

Amethyst is essentially a projection created by the chaos emerald, and she is also the purple chaos emerald itself. Think of it as... a gem from Steven Universe, lmao. She and the emerald can co-exist, and she holds immense mystical power.

Was watching Sonic the Hedgehog (2006)'s cutscenes in Japanese and I found the best opportunity to make a screenshot of Silver here because he's holding the purple chaos emerald

My OC Amethyst is the purple emerald, her consciousness and feelings are in that stone. In 06, Mephiles has this emerald for the majority of the game. I wanna say he has her silenced so she does not have the ability to warn Silver and tell him he is being lied to. So she just... watches. She watches with her very eyes seeing Silver being lied to, and ALSO being the one that distracts Sonic and Elise before Mephiles murders him. I know everything in this game is reset in time and no one remembers, but surely if the chaos emeralds were sentient, they would remember everything. I wonder how she feels then when her memories as a chaos emerald are brought to her and she remembers playing a part in such evil?

I think about this a lot lol
