James Turrell is an American artist who’s work explores the perception of light, color, and space, creating an experience that exposes the use of light as a tangible substance. His exhibitions have been featured all over the world, some major museums across the nation like, the LACMA in Los Angeles, The Museum of Fine Arts in Houston, and the Guggenheim in New York. His installations truly transform the space, making each exhibit unique to its location. We have our very own here in Chicago called the UIC Skyspace, an open observatory on the campus of the University of Illinois at Chicago. You can see more of his work here!
