Jae-yi: I love murder mysteries! Hong-rang, trying to impress her: I've been a suspect in four murder cases.
Hong-rang: Look, I know you think my judgement's clouded because I like Jae-yi a little bit. In-ho, holding Hong-rang's notepad, signing: You doodled your wedding invitation. Hong-rang: No, that's our joint tombstone. In-ho, signing: My mistake.
Jae-yi: I saw Hong-rang's picture in the newspaper during the trial, and there was just something about those eyes that just spoke to me. Mu-jin: What about the headline, "Arrested for Murder"? What did that say to you? Jae-yi: I'll admit, that made me pause.
One of my all time favorite scenes in dear hongrang is the one on the bridge, where jaeyi tries to rescue mu-jin. Like...the look on hongrang's face??? The tension??? The angst? You could tell it was emotionally TEARING hongrang apart to hold a sword to her neck
Another thing i noticed is that when jaeyi tries to push hongrang's sword off her neck, hongrang IMMEDIATELY turns the sword inward, the sharp part away from her hand. He did it SO fast, like it was a totally blink-and-miss moment. I thought that was such a cool moment to add, and it just adds to the depth if the scene. Jaeyi may be tearing his heart apart by seemingly choosing mujin and hes definitely boiling with jealously but he would NEVER hurt her willingly.
Mu-jin: Yesterday, I overheard Jae-yi saying “Are you sure this is a good idea?” and Hong-rang replying “Trust me,” and I have never moved from one room to another so quickly in my life.
