For a more exotic touch, Mambo Loa's Fortunes is a perfect place to pop in if you're looking for a little guidance on your travels...
Another recreation from the Urbz handheld. This lot is located in the Sim Quarter section of Miniopolis. A mystical spot for sims looking to purchase some potions or see what their future holds.
In addition to the reference pic from the Urbz I also drew heavy inspiration from this Sims 4 recreation.
Sim Quarter is home to the artsies, and they have set up a glorious museum. Check it out if you have a heart for art and if you're one to pursue the unique pieces.
The last of this little Sim Quarter strip, Epoch Museum. It turned out being less of an art museum and more dinosaurs and artifacts, because the two interior references featured dinos and stone monuments. It's also a pretty small space and boy was it a struggle getting things to fit.
I also added an outdoor seating area to fill out some extra space and added a little zen garden and coffee cart. Pretty pleased with how it came out, along with the other two shops on this lot.
Despite Sim Quarter's old-world charm, the most popular spot in the Quarter for locals is the Multiplayer Café. Stop by, chat, grab a cup o' joe, and trade with or challenge your friends to head-to-head play!
I think this is my fave Miniopolis recreation so far (maybe a tie with Mambo Loa's shop). I had so much fun with this one. And took about one million pictures. It was so hard to narrow down which ones to post.
I also created a whole lore for this place, combining some Sims 4 lore with the Urbz handheld, I came up with this:
For years this cafe was home to Gramma Hattie's Bakery. As a pillar of the Sim Quarter community, Gramma Hattie helped build the area up into the flourishing art district it is today, and her bakery was at the center of it. However, in recent years she noticed the young folk didn't really have a place to hang out and connect. So she transformed the lower half of her shop into a hip gaming cafe to draw the young crowd in off the streets.
She still keeps the upstairs for her bakery, offering a quite cozy atmosphere for the more bookish old-soul types. And you can catch her on the weekends at the Sim Quarter Market where she keeps a stall to sell her baked goods.
I will share some photos of the upstairs bakery in another post!
Located above Cafe Multiplaya is a cozy spot to grab some coffee and baked goods, relax, and maybe even work on some knitting. (All yarn free to customers).
In the Sims 4 they brought back Gramma Hattie where she has a bakery stall at the local market. I decided to incorporate this lore into my Miniopolis recreations, as part of my larger SimCity downtown area.
Sim Quarter has a market square which seemed like the perfect place for Gramma Hattie to have her bakery stall. But I thought she should also have a physical location too.
So I gave her some lore, as I mentioned in my post for Cafe Multiplaya, where she converted the lower half of her business to cater to the young hip crowd, while maintaining a part of her original bakery upstairs.
"Hiya. I'll be kicking back at the old crawfish shack for a little while."
Continuing with my Miniopolis builds we have the Crawfish Shack beside Mambo Loa's shop . I tried my best to recreate the vibe and just had to use my seafood food stall because it was kind of perfect, even if it looks a little strange indoors and had to cut away some ceiling tiles.
