"Mama is going to get you. Those are for tomorrow!"
"Shut up, Olive! You always trying to tell on somebody. The caramel is calling my name," Honey told her baby sister as she inhaled the sweet treats.
The girls had no idea their parents had walked up behind them.
"Girls." David always comes in quiet and firm. Without explanation, they already knew what that meant.
Maple was too flustered by the dream that had just awakened her. "Have whatever you want. I know I am."
Whatever it was, it had Maple lost in her thoughts.
Dreams & Drama.
Sunshine did not help.
When Maple got home, she had quite the visitor. Seeing him sitting in her living room scared the crap out of her. What had she done? The dream of her talking to her parents was not just a dream. How is her father sitting in her living room? He has been gone for some time now.
Maple hasn't touched her spellbook in over a year. She doesn't even keep photos up of her parents because she was afraid she'd raise them just from realizing how much she missed them.
