Duchess Mathilde: You will have a lovely time in Gödberg, darling. When I was a child, my parents visited dear Ferdinand’s grandparents there every Spring. It is truly a magnificent place.

“Our future Empress left for Windenburg!” - The Imperial Chronicles reports.

The Lady Ludovika Amalia Carolina officially left her beloved hometown at 11.00 this morning. Her Ladyship was accompanied by her older sister, Lady Cornelia, Countess of Aspana and her mother, Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Brindleton with the rest of the family following them in their carriages.

The bride will arrive at the capital in two days, marking the start of the Imperial Wedding.

Duchess Mathilde: I am so excited to see my beautiful daughter... Her state entry was beautiful, I could see the happiness and excitement in her eyes as we passed the cheering crowds... Do not take any offense Cornelia, it is Ludovika’s big day after all.

Countess of Aspana: None taken, Mama. I completely agree.

Duchess Mathilde: I managed to catch a glimpse of a sketch when she was away with her father, her dress is magneficent! I hope we are not underdressed for such a big occasion. 

Duchess Mathile: Darling! Oh my... Is everything alright?

Lady Ludovika: Mama! Cornelia! I am so happy to see you, although I did not expect any visitors..

Duchess Mathilde: Tell me what is bothering you, child. We are here to help you with anything you need. Your stress is understandable, preparing to marry the emperor of Windenburg is not something we are all used to.

Lady Ludovika: I know, Mama.. It is just... what if I am not good enough, what if I fail, what if the people will hate me? I do not think I am ready to take on this role, especially not after the Dowager.

Duchess Mathile: Nonsense! You love him and that is all that matters! Your mother-in-law will help you get used to the court and your new role. You have nothing to worry about!

Lady Ludovika: I hope you are right...

Countess of Aspana: You are so beautiful, Ludovika! I cannot wait to see you in full glory! I am sure everyone is keen to see the bride.

Lady Ludovika: Thank you, Cornelia. That does not really help with my stress. [laughs]

Lady Ludovika: Mama and you have nothing to complain about either, you look beautiful. Although... howcome you are wearing long gloves? I thought they were only for the evening... at least that is what my maid told me.

Maid: Indeed ma’am.

Duchess Mathilde: Of course I am wearing them! They are my newest gloves I had made just for this special day!

Lady Ludovika: Mama, they are not appropriate. It’s not even midday yet! And you know the Dowager... she is such a church-bell, if she notices any etiquette mistakes, she will talk about it!

Duchess Mathilde: I guess you are right. Luckily, I have brought several pairs, including shorter ones.. You can never be certain about the Windenburg Court.

Lady Ludovika: You are very quiet Cornelia. Is everything alright?

Countess of Aspana: Well... I am just worried about my husband. He is sick with the flu, that is why he cannot attend the wedding. The doctor said it is not serious and he will make a swift recovery, but still.

Lady Ludovika: I am so sorry to hear that. I wish him a quick recovery!

Lady Ludovika: Have you seen anyone around the palace? Sophia is the only one I have seen so far, she came to my room early in the morning to wish me good luck for today. She was very sweet!

Duchess Mathilde: We have not seen anyone either, only the footmen. I assume everyone is getting ready and busy getting the final touches done on the chapel. The guests could arrive any minute now.

Other Maid: Ma’am, I just got a notice that your ladies are on their way.

Duchess Mathilde: Then it is time we leave. Your father is waiting for you at the chapel entrance. Good luck darling, do us proud!
