Hiii chick!! Do you have a storyline planned out for your Branham Legacy? And do you only uses poses? I'm trying to decide if i should plan mine out or just add text to whatever gameplay photos i get, i don't know how storydriven i'd want it to be since i kinda want to just use gameplay to tell it, i'm not that great at thinking up story ideas or storytelling in general.. is that stupid😂

hiii darling!!! 😚 great question!! and it’s not stupid at all that you just want to do gameplay and put text where you find it appropriate!! i know wonderful people who do that including @peonyfalls and @bratsims :** just know that everyone has a different method and i think mine is a little on the “extra” side. SO, with that in mind, my process is a mix!

I play my game, but i try to plan my posts into the seasons of my sims’ lives. since i play with 7 day seasons, i make it so that i’m only shooting a scene part of the time and playing part of the time. i bullet-point what events I want to occur during each season/month, but i leave room for events that naturally occurred during the gameplay! i also have a general timeline that i make up as I go, which is just certain story elements that i want to hit in the future and take note of.

for example: right now, the rest of my summer bullets include junie’s ultrasound reveal and them moving houses. That’s when I switch it up to fall, where i will accomplish one of my Timeline to-dos (Amoria feeling the baby kick, and realizing how REAL this all is)

as far as poses go, i do both!! sometimes the game has the right animations to capture my ideas, and sometimes i have specific images that require poses. Sometimes I even make posts solely to use a posepack lol.

If you’d like a story line but can’t figure one out.. when in doubt, remix a cliche!!! Regal is a “enemies to lovers” and “arranged marriage” cliche with plenty others, rewritten in my own take. My legacy switches up cliches every generation, just as Jorge and Amoria’s love story was the typical “fake dating turned real dating” in my own way!! People love these story lines for a reason 😌

TLDR: yes, i have a story line planned out, BUT i also let my gameplay help write the story as well as create posts i didn’t originally plan for!! don’t let this wall of text intimidate you bb. it’s just my method, and it works for me, but if you feel happier just playing and making up a story as you go, do it!!! i promise that if you do the method that makes you most satisfied, you will like the product a lot better 💛
