A major infrastructure project has been approved in Ujjain as part of preparations for Simhastha 2028, with plans to construct a six-lane road just 200 metres from the Shipra River. The project is aimed at strengthening traffic management and improving access to river ghats during the massive religious congregation.Six-Lane Road Planned Along Shipra River CorridorAccording to official planning details, the proposed road will be approximately 12 kilometres long and 30 metres wide, making it one of the most significant road projects undertaken in Ujjain specifically for Simhastha 2028. The alignment runs parallel to the Shipra River, allowing faster movement of vehicles near major bathing ghats and congregation zones.The road has been designated as MR-22 and will be developed by the Ujjain Development Authority (UDA). Officials confirm that the tender process has already been completed, indicating that the project has moved beyond the planning stage.
