I was playing around with TS4 the other day, and I was amazed with how good looking sims could turn out to be (with the right amount of cc of course), the lighting, the shadows, everything.
Then I stop posing them and they pull these faces:
*SMH* 😐

So I spent a chunk of time tonight that I could’ve used far more productively figuring out why ACR has been throwing errors at me for a while, something about attraction scores, occasionally making the game freeze and/or crash or just make it unplayable because of all the error messages that pop up too quickly to do anything but close the game. Thinking that maybe something got corrupted when the old computer died (The folder I’m using is simply the one that was on that comp’s hard drive, moved to the new one’s hard drive before the old one got reformatted to use as extra storage), I re-downloaded and reinstalled it.
Still erroring.
So then I uninstalled ACR from the neighborhood and reinstalled it...which means resetting all the playables’ tokens, which is a pain in the ass because I randomize/custom-set each playable’s token, and it’s a lot of settings, man. But, I hop around the lots doing just that. (Thankfully, GilsCarburg doesn’t have a very large playable teen+ population yet.)
Still erroring.
So, grumbling and cursing, I play for a bit and finally notice that it throws errors only when a certain Sim is on the lot, and a lightbulb goes off.
Turns out, it’s erroring because when I aged this guy up from YA dormie in order to make him an adult townie, he lost his aspiration somewhere in the process, and ACR can’t do its calculations without an aspiration. So, I gave him an aspiration, and now all’s well.
Swear to God, it’s the little things that’ll getcha.
There is a distinct lack of grungey, destroyed, post-apocalyptic objects for Sims 3. Sims 2 has a metric ton of cool stuff like that. I have a bottomless resource for things like that, but nothing for Sims 3. :P I CAN ONLY SLAP GRUNGEY PATTERNS ON SO MUCH GUYS. I NEED BROKEN SHIT TOO.
buydebug has a decent amount, but I've already used it up, and a lot of that stuff isn't customizable.
Looking for more clutter and rocks to decorate my Shiganshina community lot. I'm just going to end up downloading a ton of crap I don't need again aren't I? D:
Oooohh! Look at those room dividers! No wait I came here for rocks. JUST ROCKS. FUCK.
How is it that a simple makeover project in TS2 can become a massive rebuild? I don't fucking understand myself sometimes.
