Simon and Garfunkel as white rabbit and Cheshire Cat
So I just wanted to draw a little doodle of them, but it ended up looking pretty good. So I made them look like this. Also noticed that with the rabbit ears Paulie is taller than Art.
Do you guys know Sweet tooth? That’s what Paul and Art would probably look as hybrids.
Part 2 (the Demon and the Detective)
Back to Part 1
Back to the Series
It was 8 am as the Detective awoke. He ropped the sleep out of his eyes. As he looked at the clock, he jumped out of bed immediately. Shit, Roy would have been worried about him. Art got dressed and stuffed all the notes into a briefcase. He run down the stairs and got into the next bus. In the police office he ran immediately to Mr. Haleey's office.
When he opened the door he saw Roy, who nervously walked around the table. "Art!", he yelled. You could hear the relief but also the anger in his voice. "I thought you were dead! You could have called me." "Not at 3 am. I am sorry Mr. Haleey, but I have new information. The murder is a man, who is about 5.4 tall." But Roy didn't listen:"Mr. Garfunkel you could have died! You can't just ran after a possible serial killer! I was really worried. I could have lost my best agent!" Art wanted to shout back, but Mr. Halley stood above him and he needed the allow to search in the area of the bridge. He kept calm and said:"Mr. Haleey I do apologies deeply, but I am really sure he lives somewhere near the river in Queens. This should be the Maspeth Creek." "Okay, we will do that.", Roy agreed with a bitter undertone. But before that they had to take care of the paperwork. Art got the information that such a sickness with black eyes and fog not exited and he must have been just overworked. But there was also a good massage for him. His theory with the woman being an criminal was correct. They found out that she was a marriage cheater and her real name was Rebecca Lee.
Around lunch time they finally could go out. Roy was already bored as they arrived. They knocked on every housedoor to check if there lived a man around 5.4. Of course they just said, they wanted to ask for an allybe by all the housmembers because of the events of last night, which already stud in the newspaper. They were done as the sun was already coming to earth and the sky was bathed in an orange red. And they had found no one. Not even on man in the whole area was so small. Not even a little bit further away, where other police units had searched. So Art had roused everybody for literally nothing. Oh, they all were so angry about him, even Roy was not amused. He pulled Art aside. "Mr. Garfunkel I think you should get a break from work. The case is just to complex. You're getting too involved." "But Mr. Haleey...",Art started, but Roy interrupted him. "I don't want you to get hurt. You seeing things that are not existing. I give you a day off. Tomorrow you have free. Take some rest. I'll give you a easyer case." Art nodded. He felt tired and lonely. Roy and the others left. He stayed. Art was just standing alone on the road of the street where the crime scene was. Art sighted. He could have cried, but he was a grown up man.
All of the sudden he heard a guitar. The sound was so beautiful. He just had to follow it. He ended up by the blue bridge. The song seemed to come up from the bridge. Art interest was aroused. There was a small riverside path which Arthur climbed down. In this whole mystery he already forgot the fact that he was fired from the case. Suddenly he heard a low screaming. But although he was under the old wooden bridge there was no one. The screaming and the guitar play which got more and more aggressive came out of a little hill. Art nocked against the grass. It was no grass it was metal. Art immediately searched for a opener in the ground. Then he felt a Tab on the left side. The Ring of the Tap was so small that his fingers barely fit trough it. He pulled it up. The secret metal plate that resembled a manhole cover was open and Art turned around. His feet felt a ladder. So he climbed slowly and as quiet as possible down. It was extremely foolish to go without anyone knowing in a murderers hideout, but Art couldn't tell a soul. Roy was pissed of him. Everybody was pissed of him. He should just left this case and not even fifteen minutes later he climbed down in the fucking base of a killer.
As he touched the ground he closed the hatchway. He had to duck his head and be carful not to pinch his curls. Yes, this was definitely the hideaway of this strange man from yesterday. Art switched on a flashlight, which he always had in his pockets of his coat. Art had to lower his head so as not to bang it on the ceiling. The passage under the earth was simple. There was just the naked grey walls and some wall lamps which were switched off. Garfunkels heart was throbbing very loudly. He panicked extremely, but he needed to stay calm. Luckily the guitar playing and screaming continued and Art could follow something, because there were a lot of junctions in the gangway. Art memoized the path exactly. Than as the sounds were the closest. He pulled out his gun and hid behind the last corner. He peeked into the large room. The screaming echoed on the walls. The ceiling was high above and Art didn't needed to duck anymore. There were lots of pipes and papers an the walls of the dark room. Art had already switched off the flashlight. There was also two of the wall lights which donated some light. But Art was turned with his back to the happing in the big room with some big columns in it and more entries on the sides. So the Detective put a little sticker on his entries. This big maze must have been an very old drainages system, which was forgotten and hadn't been used in years. Art listened carefully. The song sounded aggressive and Art had never heard it before. Although he was really keen on music. Singing and music was his only thing besides work. So he listened.
The man, who had scratchy voice and screamed, bagged for mercy. But than there was this horrifying voice. It was a dark, cold and absent mind voice. Art stand up the hair of his back. Every word made the room shake. "You fool! Shut it! Did you gave mercy to the old people as you exploded the retirement home? You want to feel how it feels to explode? Fine I can make you explode like your bombe. But it just will kill you. Bye, bye life. Any last words to explain why you did this?" Around Arts brown shoes he saw this strange black fog. It was everywhere on the ground. But before he could thought about it, the tortured responded:"I had a reason. I did it for the duty of America. What are you even? A monster? A devil? A demon?" "I am so much better. I am something powerful. I am the justice. I am something that would be way too much for your puny brain! Tell me and I might have mercy. What do you mean with 'duty of America'?" Art noticed that there was something playful and amused in his voice. The suffering from this young man was just a funny game for him. "This idiots had Jews in their ranks." Art felt his heard skipped a beat. His moth popped off. This men was the murderer of the retirement home. He had seen the case on the wall of the police office. Art as a Jew himself was shocked by this. There were in the sixties, when did people woke up. But still torturing was always wrong. Art was just quietly thinking as suddenly he heard the spooky voice even louder and it didn't sounded playful anymore. It sounded angry and serious:"You might think you're above me. What you think isn't always true!" Art knew what would happen. So he unlocked the gun, came out of his hide and drew on the mysterious killer. In this short second he just saw a young man lying on the ground. His arms and lags were full of deep scratches. And this serial killer was floated in the air and this black fog came out of him as if he made it with his guitar. The man had black empty eyes and worn a black suit. More Art couldn't see. "Stand still or I will shot!", he shouted.
Next everything happened so extremely fast. The thing hit the guitar strings. The suffering man on the ground screamed in pain and with a explosion he was torn into pieces. All of his body parts and blood splashed around, which also splashed on Arts coat. Without even thinking Art shot the thing in the shoulder. He screamed and dropped on the ground. The fog disappeared and the man or demon cried in pain. It was a heart touching scream and sounded different to the voice before: more human. He rolled over in a pool of a blood mix between the death man and his own. Arts feet were standing in the blood lacquers of the men next to the rest body parts. He still had his gun pulled out. "Hey. Put your weapon away." But instead the man who was with his back to Art, so he just saw the black blazer, just pushed his guitar away. Art came closer. "Don't do anything." He wanted to see the man from the front. But he crawled back in the safety of the shadow behind a pillar. The man really didn't behaved normal.
"I can't kill him." The man said, but with a normal and actually beautiful voice Art thought. The man didn't seem to talk to him, but there was no one else. "I know we have to. But he is so...He is too good." But than he seemed to talk to Art:"I am not going to kill you. You are a good person. But he was a murderer." "Well you killed him." "I know." The man still cried. "He killed... old people because they were..." "I know brutal. The woman also wanted to kill her boyfriend. But this is not the way to solve the problem." "You are an angle." "What?" "You're hair is blonde and curly. I imagine an angle just like this. What Religion do you have?" "Well I should ask the questions.",Art said and crouched down to comfort the other man. Comfortable? Oh, man. What have I come to? Being nice to a killer. Art thought. But he also wanted explanations. He needed to be carful. Any wrong word and that was it. "I know. That's why you came." "And because I heard screaming." "And music. But firth answer my question." "I'm Jewish. Happy?" "Satisfied.", he said with a litte colder voice, but than it changed back:"Sorry, I just can't control the shadow in the dark. He is a part of me." "That's not possible." "Oh, it is. And you should know the best. Cause you saw my magic. That means you are more intelligent than the others. You are special. An angle. A cat." "A cat?" "The Cheshire Cat, who came in the rabbit hole." "Well, than you should be the white rabbit." "Very true.", the man sounded as if he smiled. "Hey, can you smile? If you smile for me, than I will come out of my hide." "First you ask me the question of my religion and than this." "Please.", the man bagged. Art imagined a puppy eye look. He smiled. A weirded thought. A murderer with a puppy eye look. In that moment a pale face appeared behind the pillar. Art looked up.
The face was somewhat angular and with high chariot bones. He had his head again inclined like the day before. His skin was a whiter shade of pale as if he had never seen the sunlight. His hair was short and a mix black and dark brown. He also had short bangs on his forehead. But the mystery was his eyes. They were dark brown and looked so full of interest. And not like before. More like the ones of a human. Art couldn't help it. But this man definitely looked attractive. Well besides the eye bags and his pale skin which made him look sick. Art had never felt an attraction to anybody. That was one of the reason why he was a such a good detective. He couldn't be tricked by feelings. If this was dark magic, than the demon, man or whatever maybe just scanned his head and transformed to Arts desire. With this thought Art could keep a cool head. "You smiling.", the man said happily. Did he blushed? "Yes I am.", Art said confused. What did this creepy good looking thing wanted? "So you had questions." "Yes." "Do you really want to ask them here?", the man ask and turned his head to the other side. "Why?" The man giggled:"You are so funny." "Why?" "Because you asking why this is a bad place to talk. We are literally standing in the remains of an idiot." "What are those papers?" Art tried not to be distracted. "My songs. I need to write them to create the magic. Oh and crimes. I also need to find the right people." "To kill them." "You could say that. Can't we go out?" "What?" "Sorry, again. I can't control what I'm saying. This shadow in me is trying to direct me." Art nodded. "I think that's were you don't understand anymore.", the man said. "Yes." "Okay, as I said I need to clean up here and this is not a good place to talk. I could meet you tomorrow evening in a restaurant." Art raised his eyebrows. "You are still bleeding and you have a bullet in you're shoulder and just killed a man. And the only thing you are doing is asking me out?" "I am not asking you out. God, this is not supposed to be a date. This is supposed to be a inquisition... I mean why should I...Ahhhh." He lay back down on the ground. Art immediately came closer.
"Should I help you? I could call a ambulance." Art softly turned the man on his back so that he lay correctly. Art wanted to touch the wound, but the man hold his hand above it. "Hell no! Not a hospital. Do you want to kill me?! Can you just put out this fucking bullet! I can't heal myself, if this is still inside of me!", he said, but his voice was tensed. Art wanted to ask, but he had to do it. This thing or man was his only answer to everything. So he carefully put the hand away and tried to fish out the bullet in the wound. The man was screaming in pain and clawed in Art's coat. But Art kept calm. Medically he done everything wrong. He groped after all around in an open wound without even knowing how. Then finally he got the bloody bullet out. "Got it.", he said with sweat on his forehead. The man smiled. Art wanted to notice that the wound was still fully open. But than it closed itself. The bloody wound was disappearing and than the man stud up as if nothing happened. "What the hell?", Art yelled. "Thanks. So tomorrow." "Morning." "Oh no. I'm sleeping at daytime. We don't like the sun." "I know, but I have time and I want to meet you tomorrow right here. And don't even thing about playing any games!" "Yes, Sir.", the man nodded and grinned slightly. Art on the other hand was bitter and didn't know anymore if he could ever trust this whole thing. "What's even your name?", Art asked suspicious. "Paul Frederic Simon. You can call me Paul." "My name is Arthur Ira Garfunkel." "Artie." "You are a murderer who I should bring in prison. And you already giving me a nickname." "Yes.", Paul giggled. "That's not a game.", Art said strict. Paul nodded and understood. "So you going to leave now and get your sleep. I clean up and we see us tomorrow morning, when it rains." "Rains?" "You will see." "I can't just leave you. You killed a man and I saw it! I have to take you with me!" "But you are not allowed to work in my case anymore." "Where did you know?" "That's pretty obvious and it wasn't even my plan. Why do see my magic?" "I have no idea. But I will not leave you alone." Paul put his head again to the side. "Are you always doing that, when you are confused?" "Confused and interested." "Okay. We cleaning up and than I take care of you." "With the gun?" "This is just my threat." "Oh, you humans are so simple-minded. Always this dumm weapons.", Paul's voice was deep again. "Just do what I say!" Paul nodded again. He grabbed his guitar and played a very fast song and than everything was clean. Well not clean. Everywhere was this dark fog. The blood and body parts were gone. But a dark liquid was dripping down on the ground. "What how?" "Dark magic. Tomorrow more." Art looked down to his dirty coat. His beloved brown coat full of blood as well as his hands. "Gimme you're coat." Art looked shocked at Paul. "Never!" "Trust me." "You are a serial killer!" "Yeah, a demon, a devil... trust me or it's ruined." "This coat is my award as an detective." Paul walked behind him and gently took his coat. Paul wanted to play a much softer song, but Art grabbed Paul's hands. "No I don't want that this liquid ruins my coat." "I will be extra carefully." "Do my hands firth." Oh, Art had no idea what was going on, what was he even doing. Paul touched gently Arts hands. He rubbed them slightly. Paul wanted to started to sing. But Art pulled his hands back. "No. Stop this. You are a murderer and now coming with me. Give me your guitar!" Paul stood still. Art toke the guitar and handcuffed him. Paul didn't defend himself. "You don't know the way." "I am an detective. I know the way." Art dragged Paul back to the opening. "You can't order a taxi with me in handcuffs." "I know. So you playing my friend. Playing shouldn't be so difficult for you." Paul nodded. Art looked the handcuffs and crawled in Pauls arm. Than he ordered a taxi.

Back to the series
Art and Paul were on the way. They had asked Loran. Mr. Michaels had already forgotten yesterday's argument. He was just happy to talk to someone. He talked about his new comedy act, since he was a comedian in some pubs and Birthday party's. He talked about the happy kids and drunken mans. "Sound like you living your life just right. You're a good person.", Paul said suddenly from the backside. "Thank you. You are?" "Paul Simon." "Simon... If heard that name somewhere?" Paul and Art got exited. Maybe this was a change to solves Paul's mystery. "Where?" They both said at the same time. They looked a little bit surprised because of the same action at each other and blushed a bit, but than Paul just looked back to Loran. "I can't remember sorry." "Well, it's a common name.", Paul answered with disappointment. But Art kept this hint in mind.
As they arrived infront of the huge building, they thanked Loran and walked in the large hall full of books, which was made out of white marble. The selves made a dark contrast to the white since they were made out of dark brown wood. Actually this was one of Arts favourit places. He loved everything about books. The smell, the knowledge, the felling, everything. Which was kinda obvious since his little flat had more books than anything else. "In which area did you found the book?", Art asked. "Law." "Law? Why law?" "I don't know. Maybe I was a lawyer or a judge." "And no one missed you?" "No, I'm not very noticeable. Short, brown hair and very normal. Who would like or hate me?" "Well I do.", Art said and was kinda surprised by saying this himself. "What?" "I do.", he said again. "I heard you. Just do you like or hate me?" "Both. I can't decide yet, but you are defiantly important." Paul blushed and did his 'I put my head to the side again'. "Ah, see the sun is going slowly down and you behave different like an animal." "Rude." "Not meant rude. I mean that this is interesting." "Can we focus again on the problem?" They both left the smaller shelves and went to where the shelves nearly touched the ceiling. The books stood all together in crowded rows full of more books. The walls you could see were now made out of black marble. Paul went prosessfully to a table for studying. The table had the same colour as the selves and some green lamps were attached on top of the table, to study even if it was a little darker outside. Paul pointed at the sixth seat. "This one. I sat on this one as the book fell off the self right behind me. I turned around and it was socking my whole attention. I needed to read it. I was unhappy with so many things and now I had the power to fix them. The book gave me the shadow magic and I became part of the darkness to find the archenemy and make revenge on the bad people." "Sounds like a horror film to me." "And I'm the cruel psycho killer?" "Yeah, I think you could say that.", Art answered, but rather with a little bit of humour, cause Paul wasn't a psycho killer. He was weird and a murderer, but not a psycho. Arthur knew and already met psycho killers and Paul on the inside was way to friendly for them. Sure he had some sort of passion, but it wasn't frenetic. "But what helps this now to find my memory?" "Well if you were sitting here and the book felt there than the book must have fell out of this place." Art pointed at a book about bird and wings. Paul raised his eyebrows. "How to fly like a bird?" "No, we have to take it out." Art removed the book carefully and dramatically. To put some kind of unneeded tension to his action. As he had removed it and held the book in his hands, he waited for a short while.
Nothing happened. "Okay, I imagined that maybe somekind of secret room would open now.", Art explained. But instead the book started getting hotter in Arts hands. "Au!", he yelled and dropped it. "Be quiet!", someone admonished Art. "Sorry.", he whispered. "What was that?",Paul asked. "I don't know. The book just got extremely hot and it felt like my hands would be burned." Paul grabbed Arts hands and toke a closer look on them. They were really red and the skin was peeled off a bit. As if Art would have touched red hot metal. But as Paul picked up the book nothing happened. "Interesting. Can you remember me?" "What? Of course you are Paul." "Okay, can you remember your job?" "What the heck? Of course. I'm a detective, who searches your arch enemy." "Interesting.",Paul said mysterious. "What?", Art asked again and starred down on his palms. As he had felt Pauls hands in his it had felt so cooling. As if it healed the pain. "Well, I had the same problem. Just that the book was ice cold." "Like your skin?" "Yes." Arts breath stoped. He panicked. "No, what? Is that going to happen to me as well? I don't want to get a monster." "Thanks for calling me a monster.", Paul said annoyed, but you could hear how hurt he was by Art's words. But Art was way to busy thinking of the things that could happen to him. Paul opened the book. It was just a normal book about how birds fly. "I don't understand. It's not special. It's not magical. It's just a normal book." "A normal book, which burned my hands!",Art pointed out. "Okay, we going to take it with us and see what it really is." "And than I get a monster or something! No forget this! It's going to stay here!" "Artie, I can't help you if you panic and leave the book." "Artie?" "Artie. Yeah. Your name is Art. Why not Artie?", Paul said as if this was the most normal thing in the world, but for Art that meant more. SHE used to call him Artie. Why Paul? Why did that all happened to Art? Why? "Anyways. We get the book and I will see what I can do." Art nodded nervously. They lean the book and went back to Arts flat. Luckily everything went normal. Loran still talked about unimportant information without pause during the drive.
In Arts flat Paul jumped on the sofa and started studying his dark magic book. Art instead left in the bathroom. His back hurt again. So Art turned out his pullover, but than he noticed blood stains on his undershirt. "Fuck.", he whispered and thought that the mosquito bits just popped off, but as he undressed his upper body fully and turned around, he was shocked. The little swelling had turned into lumps with bits of calamus growing in between his shoulder blades. On top of the two lumps there was a spilt and it scratched and was bleeding horribly. Art wanted to shout. What the hell was going on with his body? But than again, he didn't wanted to ask Paul. Paul would just make it worse. Art just grabbed some band aid and wrapped it around his breast. So that the area was covered. And he turned on his pullover again. Than he wrapped some more band aid and watered them with cold water from the tap. He wrapped them around his hands and returned to Paul in the living room trying to not be suspicious. "Okay.", Paul started without even looking up from the book. "Here it says that it probably was light magic. It could be that you are starting to shine randomly or burn something down or something in what you are good turns overpowered." "Uff. Why me?" "I don't know. You are a goodie and a helper that's why." "And it's your faults. You dragged me into this whole shit!" "No. You came into my life." "Because you killed someone." "Someone who would have killed many more." All of the sudden Art got furious. His whole body felt so hot and he was just tired. "Shut up! You are still a criminal and I might help you, but you are still under my supervision. And I'm going to bed now and you will lay in front of it as yesterday!" "No! That hurt horribly!" "Well, my hands hurt as well. Just shut up and do what I say."
Art grabbed Pauls arm and attached him to the bed, which he did so fast that Paul hit his head at the edge of the bed. But Paul kept quiet. He had little tears in his eyes, but didn't let them fell down. His tears stayed in his eyes, cause Art told him to keep quite. Art didn't even turned on his pyjama, since he didn't wanted Paul do see his horrible ripped back. As Art calm down and starred at the ceiling, tears started to roll down his checks. He didn't wanted to be so cruel, but this all just overwhelmed him. He was turning into a monster or something horrible. Something came out of his back, he thought. Instead of sleeping in he kept awake. The sun was now gone, but Art and Paul were quiet and both hadn't moved. Art didn't knew his long he was laying there and thinking of the worse way his body could turn into. It was getting hotter and Art pushed the blanket aside, which helps for five minutes. But then he started to sweat. Cold sweat was on his forehead. The sweat probably was the only cold thing on his body right now. Art jumped out off bed and turned the heating off. It still didn't helped. His body would turn into a flame, he thought. Art went back to bed and tried to sleep. But he couldn't. He looked at the clock. 10 pm. He closed his eyes and tried to ignore everything. It felt like it would get better, but than it just got worse. Art turned to the other side and moved again and again, but it felt as hot as before. At 11 pm he remembered Pauls cooling and ice cold body, but they had argued and wasn't it weird to ask Paul something like that. Art thought about that for another half an hour, while staring at the little night light. On the one hand Paul might comfort him and make this fire in Art leave, on the other hand he was a murderer and sleeping in a bed with a men was weird. But in the end it wouldn't help right. No, one option Art still had. He sneaked out in the bathroom to undress nearly fully. Now he had just his underwear. Now it should be cold, Paul wouldn't notice the band aid and Art could sleep. He went back in bed to sleep finally. Or not. Nope, it was still hot. Not very hot, but hot. Art thought and thought, but the only way it could get cooler and he could get some sleep was Paul. He got back up and turned the light on. Paul didn't seem to sleep either. The dark haired man looked up to Art. "What's wrong?", he asked, but it sounded so worried and truly soft and calming. "Nothing. It's just so hot in here." "That probably because of the book. For me it's kinda cold in here. But believe me I guess this will be just in the firth days so horrible. It will get better." "I can't sleep and I need to go to work tomorrow and it's your fault." "So..." "So, you get with me in the bed and cooling me down. But don't thing something. This is just..." "Just because you want to sleep. I know." Art freed Paul and got back to bed. Paul was a little bit shyer. After every step he came closer he toke a deep breath. As he finally sit on the bed, he was too nervous to come closer to Art. But Art, who was so exhausted from that heat, just grabbed Pauls hips and pulled him close to his body. Paul breathed very fast. Now he started panicking. But Art didn't noticed. He turned around and waited for Paul to start cuddling him. As Art closed his eyes, Paul starred at Arts body.
Paul just couldn't move. Art was so perfect. Everything about him was perfect. His fluff hair, his height, his bright blue eyes which shined like stares, his unique nose and his warm body. Yeah, his body was so warm. Paul toughed carefully Arts burning skin as if it was made out of porcelain. Paul let his hands ran from Art's arms till his waist. Paul moved closer to Art. His body was so warming and his skin felt so soft. Art also seemed to finally sleep in. As the demon moved his hands upper to Art's chest, feeling the fabric of Art's undershirt. But something seemed to be under the white fabric. Something that felt like band aid. Did Art had back problems? Paul asked himself. But if he would asked now, this beautiful moment would be over. Paul cuddled closer with Art. He pushed his head gently against Arts back just so smell Arts sweet smell of sweat. Art's breast lifted up and down gently and Paul could feel Art's heart beat in a somehow perfect and fascinating rhythm. "Queer! Bitch! Criminal!", the shadow in his head yelled to Paul. "He's never going to love you back! Not even if you would be a girl. Paul don't be so naive. He is an angle a light lover. A romanticer, a girls lover, too perfect for you. You are small and the darkness itself. You are a demon, a creature of the night. You are ugly. You get aggressive so fast. You would just argue with him. He just talkes to you, because you are working on a case." Paul shadow was right. Art would never give the love Paul was feeling back. Tears started to roll down his checks and remained as little wet dots on Arts undershirt. Paul started to sob, but something about the exiting of Art, the hugging of Arts body calmed Paul's unruhige soul and he dizzed of in the world of sleep still in comfort of Artie's body so close to him, which fighted every nightmare and even the word of the shadow.
And Art's sleep was more peaceful than ever as well. As if this horrible demon was an comforting angle instead or at least deep down in his heart.

Simon and Garfunkel girls AU
So my friends for a while now I have made up a new Simon and Garfunkel AU. Although it’s called S&G as girls, Paul and Art are still exiting in the way they exist now. But what is this AU now? I will explain what my imagination had now done again.
Paula Frederique Sifunkel: Firth of all the names are not Simon and Garfunkel, since Paul and Art are still exiting and living in New York. Paula lives in New York as well. She meets Arthura because of an school exchange, when they were seventeen. Firth Paula didn’t liked Art, because she was manly talking to the ‘popular girl’, but as she found out that they both liked S&G, they became friends. Paula loves baseball and music. Because she wants to be a teacher, she babysits Rylee with Arthura together. In addition they can play in the studio, as they babysit her. Paula is very passionate and more the one who leads everything. She just want to make sure everything is correct. Though she is very small (5.2/ 1,58), she still has a lot to say and can get rough to people she doesn’t like. She might seems strong on the outside, but privately she is a total softy. Furthermore Paula has ability to use dark magic (like Paul in my demon and detective book) That’s why she has to solve some mystery cases along with Arthura. The problem mostly her snobbish family is causing the trouble and also dragging Paul and Art in the whole problem.
(Sorry, for the bad quality. I’m not good in photography)
Arthura Irina Garmon: Arthura or better to say Art or Artie is a friend and romantic type of person. She loves acting and singing. Art studies mathematics and is often very busy. She enjoys hiking and camping, especially with Paula. Mostly she is the one who keeps a cool head and brings Paula on the ground. Although it’s her who has the light magic and can actually fly. For flying she can make wings appear on her back. Other then Paula, who got her magical powers since she was born. Arthura got them from being with Paula. Other than Paula, who needs to use her guitar or just her hands, Arthura uses her voice. She also can use recordings of her voice to make to spells at the same time. Although Arthura truly loves Paula, she still makes a little fun about her height, since Arthura is 5.8/1,74. But she also is always there to comfort Paula.
Rylee Halee: Rylee was just born as Paula and Arthura met. The babysit her since she was five months old. Rylee is the daughter of the single father Timo Halee. Timo is actually related to Roy Halee, but that’s his little secret. Timo is an engineer and owner of a studio. He is always happy and a true sunshine. He says something positive in everything. Rylee is called ‘Baby Driver’, since she loves the song and also loves cars. Rylee is a little sunshine as well, but she as every little kid, she can get very stubborn if she wants something. Rylee just sleeps in when Arthura sings for her. She also likes to sing, but also likes to play baseball and everything with cars. (Maybe she gets a little sister as well, but I’m still working on that character). Fun fact: Her appearance is a mixture between Arthura and Paula. For example her hair. It’s the dark brown colour of Paulas hair, but curly as Arthura.
How did I came to this?: Well, I had the idea since two or one and a half year, but the last details and inspiration was given to me by @simonandgarfunkelsworld
After reading this character summary. I would like to get litte feedback to this. Do you like that S&G Au? Is it a good ides? Would you like to add anything or have questions to something?
Part 5 (the Demon and the Detective)
Back to part 4
Back to the series
Paul was gone. Art searched desperately some sign of Paul. But there was nothing. Not even blood or his body laying somewhere. Just the cars and humans passing by. Suddenly Art heard a voice. The voice of the idiot who just jumped out of the window. "Hey, Cheshire Cat! Hurry up!" "Where are you?", Art yelled down in to the street, still couldn't spot Paul. His voice just seemed to come from the ground. "In the shadows" "What? How?", Art answered the nothing. Suddenly Mrs. Robinson the owner of the record shop gegenüber von Art's flat. Mrs. Robinson had her curly black hair in a messy morning bun and she worn her brown flower dress. "Mr. Garfunkel, I thought you were a responsible man, but I seem to have mich getäuscht. Firth you making everyone awake in the middle of the night and now you are yelling down your window and talking to the ground. What happened to the nice and polite neighbour?" "I'm sorry Mrs. Robinson. This may look weird, but this is a new method for a case I'm working on." "Could you please than work a bit quitter? I don't want to loose any customers because of you!" "Of course, Mrs. Robinson." Than she closed her window again and stared her work. "Jump down!",the shadow on the ground screamed again. So Art was the only one who could understand Paul, when he was... somewhere. "I can't just jump down." "Just do it." "Do you want to kill me?" "I never would do that. I told you before. In Addition I gave you my word, partner." Art looked down again. Gosh, he never noticed how high his flat was. But Art needed to do this. This enemy was probably much more dangerous than jumping down and die. But something in Art wanted to jump. Something really wanted to know if that was possible. He saw a man exploding, black fog, magic made by a guitar and now a man disappearing in the shadows. SO this was probably one of the normal things that would happen on his day. Art breathed calmly and made the firth foot step on the windowsill. Oh, that was even higher. The ground seemed to move down there and Art remembered that he had high anxiety. "I can't do this.",Art announced and tears started dropping down his cheeks. "I will catch you. I promise.", the shadow Paul said. Art closed his eyes and just made a step into the nothing.
As expected the felt down like a stone, but than something got him. His whole body was surrendered by something ice cold. As he opened his eyes for the short of a second he just saw a world full of black fog and everything the whole world seemed to just made out of sketchy outlines who shacked. There were also the outline of Paul who was holding him, the only detail in Pauls graphite black body was his white eyes, which looked like someone just erased the part were his eyeholes should have been. But as suddenly that world was there it was gone. Art stood as casual as nothing happened on the sidewalk and Paul stood next to him. Art felt different like something had pulled his body apart like a bubble gum and back to normal again. His head boomed and his stomach seemed to have turned around. "Are you okay? The first time in the shadow world. How are you doing?" Art couldn't respond, because he couldn't hold it back anymore. And just puked on the way. "Oh, yeah. I also needed to trough up. That's totally normally." As Art was finally done and felt kinda normal again, he saw Mrs. Robinson shacking her head in disappointment. Art sighted. Paul was about to ruin his whole image. Not just his work now also Mrs. Robinsons trust. "Now come on we need to do human things.", Paul said exited. "You mean buying clothing for you. "Yes." And all of the sudden Paul started running. "Wait, you don't even know in which direction we need to go." "But you know.", Paul laughed while running. Art hurried up so that he could keep up with Paul.
As Art finally got Paul he toke the lead, he brought them back to the actual road. Art knew a good clothing store, which was cheap, but had good quality. In Addition he knew the owner of the shop. Her name was Peggy Bird. He shop was rather small, but it had everything. From kids to adults for every event. The outside was white but the store window was an eye catcher. The one side was all classical designed with sites and dresses in black and white. The other side was colourful, but somehow the colours still matched. Art walked up the three stairs and opened the glass door for Paul and him. Peggy talked to costumers, but as she saw Art she smiled. From the inside there was a counter which had a wardrobe behind it, because Peggy also repaired things. The rest of the shop was ordered after Sale, Men's, Woman's, Kid's and special events. Art waited in front of the counter and waited for Peggy to finish her conversation. As the costumers payed, they were alone with Peggy. "Artie! Nice to see you again. It's been a while since...Since you know." Art nodded sad as he remembered the tragically incident. "Anyways what can I do for you? Is your coat ruined again?" "Yeah. A bit. But meanly I'm here for my friend... known Paul. He needs new clothes... A lot of new clothes." Peggy smiled over to Paul. Art still wondered how she was always so happy after all what happened. Peggy walked over to Paul. "Okay, I see. Hi, Paul. I'm Peggy Bird. You can call me Peggy. A friend of Art is a friend of mine. Art lean you his clothes. But I think I know your style or do you have any wishes?" "No, I don't have any ideas about my style." Art looked angry over to Paul. Peggy might could have find out something or react suspicious to what Paul just said. Luckily Peggy just laughed and said, while she left in the men's area:"Mens. You all just don't have any sense for clothes." Paul looked excitedly around in the shop, but not like a little child. Rather like he would study the room and searched for clues. As Art always did, when he arrived at a crime scene. Pauls look stoped at the sign on top of the shop. The name of the shop. Art blushed. Yeah, Paul was going to find out the truth. He knew what question would be asked from Paul now. "Why is your shop called 'The birds sisters'? Is your sister not here today?" Peggy came back with a lot of different clothes. She placed them on the counter. "Art didn't told you?", she asked as she turned the open sign to close, since she knew that Pauls whole searching clothes would toke a while. "No he didn't.", Paul said and looked interested over to Art. Art rolled his eyes annoyed. He didn't wanted that Paul knew this. Just Peggy and Roy knew about this. Why should he tell it to a killer he just met? This was one of Arts most privet secret and Paul shouldn't find out anything about that. Paul was just a partner. Just a case. "No! Peggy as I said Paul is just a friend. He has no rights to know that!", Art stressed. Peggy nodded and Paul agreed calmly:"No problem. I don't want to get to personal. Art is right. I have no rights to know this." Although Art was kinda surprised that Paul just agreed they started searching out clouting for Paul. They ended up with cream, black and red pullover, black jeans, a blue and black stripped pyjama, a white shirt, a red and white scarf and a black cape. "A cape? Seriously?", Art asked confused. "That's cool. And we like it." "No. I don't like it. Not you. We! The shadow and I. It's a cool image." Art raised his eyebrows. "When that makes you happy." Peggy didn't really paid attention. She was busy checking in all the items. "Wait, but Art you said you are poor.", Paul mentioned. "Good point, but I will make a sale just for you two.", Peggy announced. "But Peggy. No, I will pay this. As a detective this should be enough." "No, Artie. You also have to buy food, I guess and you couldn't effort that so let's say... 52,09$." "Peggy, you're the best." "I know.", Peggy blushed. Art payed and grabbed the bags in which all the items were.
Than they went out of the store. "That was funny. What are we doing now?" "Bringing those things home, dress you and find out more about the library." And so they did what Art had said. Since it was getting autumn, Paul turned on his white pullover and the cape. "Now I have a black cape and you have you cream brown coat." "Amazing now can you might get into your little brain and think about what the name of the library was?", Art said a little bit annoyed. "Let me think...", Paul answered and sat on the sofa. He looked on the ground and was very thoughtful. Suddenly he jumped up and announced:"Queens Public Library at Kew Gardens Hills." "Kew Gardens Hills?", Art looked at Paul shocked. "Yeah." "You sure?" "100%" "That's were I was born and grew up. If you really were there. Maybe you even lived in this aera." Paul nodded exitedly. "We can drive there with Loranz taxi." "No, first of all we need to get back in my hideout. I need to get something." "Okay, but before that I will chock lunch." Paul set down and put his head in Art's record collection, while Art started to chock some pancakes. "You like the Everly Brothers?", Paul yelled still his head in the box with Arts records. "Who doesn't?" "I like them too. They are great. Although I also love folk rock." "Why can you remember this?" "Well, I'm still making music." "Well, you kill with that music." "I do revenge." "Called what ever you want. It's illegal." Instead of an answer Art got to hear the beautiful voices of Don and Phil and Paul, who sang along to the Everly Brother's Bye, bye love. Art couldn't do anything else, but started singing along as well. "You can sing?", Paul asked confused, but Art didn't stoped singing and focused on making lunch. As the spaghetti was done and the record over, Art placed the two bowls with spaghetti on the table in the living room. Paul sat down next to Art. Both started eating. Than Art asked:"What do you have to get anyway?" "The book and my songs of course. They were years of hard work." "The book?" "The book from the library. My book." "Your book? I thought it belongs to the library." "No, not my my. The shadows book. I learned all the magic from it. Normally I never leave my hideout without it."
After lunch they went outside again. But this time they couldn't just easily walk under the bridge and get the book. No, to make matters worse Roy was standing on the bridge and smoked happily a cigarette. Damn it, if Roy noticed Paul together with Art. He would start asking questions and Roy was a policeman and good with questions. "Paul, wait.", Art whispered to Paul as they were still far enough away from Roy. "You need to get your things on your own. I will talk to Roy. In the main time you get them and he won't notice a thing." Paul agreed and started sneaking to the bridge, while Art walked up to Roy. "Hey, Roy. Nice to see you." "Oh, Arthur. What are you doing here?" "Enjoying my free day. Anything new?" "No, just the usual. Oh, yeah any plans for this weekend?" "No, why?" "I still have two tickets for a concert of a group called 'District' or so. I can remember. Anyways, I wanted to have dinner with my wife and now I still got this tickets. And I thought you like music since you are singing." "Oh, okay." "Maybe you also ask a girl out." Art nodded, while looking down in the water bound the bridge. He toke the two red ticket cards Roy gave him and put them in his pockets. Suddenly his back started to itch again. Since Roy was standing next to him, Art just moved his shoulder. His back started to hurt. "Arthur are you okay?", Roy asked. As inconspicuous as possible Art nodded. "I just have some moscato bits on my back." "Oh, yeah. That's nasty. Anyways I will get back to work." Art nodded. But as he saw Paul who wanted to leave his basement with a black book and some notes right in the direction Roy wanted to go, Art jumped on the road of Roy. "Hey, when is the concert?" "Oh, must be about eight o'clock in the evening." "What should I wear?" "Art, why are you standing right in front of my and obviously blocking my view?" "What? NO, I'm just standing normal. So what should I wear." "Normal clothes. I don't know. Just what you wear to a date. Now, I need to get back to work." "No, wait...Ähm..I really can't be part of the case again?" "No. Now move out of my way please. And if you say anything about the case again... Art even you can be fired." Art kept quit. He didn't wanted to annoy Roy any further. Luckily Paul was hiding behind the next tree anyways. "See you tomorrow.", Roy said friendly again. "Bye.", Art answered and waited till Roy was gone. Than he went to Paul. Paul had the book and his written work hidden under his new cape. "Okay, let's get to the library."

AN: So this is my shitty drawing of Art's room. Just that you can roughly see were everything is.
The drove back was uncomfortable. Art needed to be very close to Paul, because the taxi was rather small. Paul looked out the window and his eyes followed the traffic lights. Art had to put the guitar between his legs. This was already so uncomfortable, but the taxi man mad it worse as he ask them:"Mister Garfunkel you never told me about a friend." Arthur knew the driver. Actually he used to take his car all the time back in the days. He didn't had to pay him, because Art help him to not get in prison. Mr. Michaels was involved in a murderer once, because he drove the criminal, who wanted to put it in his shoes. Art solved the crime and got a free taxi. Which wasn't so good as it sounded. In fact Art rather toke other drivers, because Mr. Michaels just talked way to much and asked way to much. And this night Mr. Michaels just was the nearest. Why didn't Mr. Garfunkel just used his own car? Well, he had a driver license, but he didn't had a car. And the traffic in Queens was to crowded for him. Also a detective doesn't have the time to search for a parking spot. A detective needed to search for a criminal.
"Yeah, I don't know him for that long.", Art responded politically. "Well, you didn't took my taxi for a while. Why?" Arthur knew that he would asked that. So he lied:"I couldn't they just gave me different drivers." "Oh, well I will clear that with the central. Anyways did you two had a great time at the party?" "Which party?" "Well, it's late and you are out with a friend. You both are very dirty from party stuff and you sweated due to dancing. I conclude, that you were at a party." "Oh, yeah of course. That party. It was very nice." "Nice? Meet any girls?" "Ähm, not really." "Oh, come on." "Lorne Michels. Nothing happened!", Art yelled from the backseat. Lorne was totally not used to here his firth name and understood. He talked to much, again. Silently he capped his eyes on the road. Paul lied his head to side and looked to Art, who rested his head in his hands. Art was overworked and embarrassed. He wanted to sleep so bad. Roy was right. This case was too much for him. As they arrived, Mr. Michaels parked the car in front of the big red brick house with thousand of little flats. Paul jumped out of the car and waited in front of the door, which looked a bit like a dog. Art staid a bit longer, just to say:"I'm sorry Mr. Michaels. I... I'm just overworked. This is not your fault and has nothing to do with you. You're a great driver." Mr. Michaels smiled brokenly and mumbled:"Oh no problem. But please don't overtake yourself." Art nodded and got out of the car.
He unlocked the front door. Paul followed excitedly. Art just ignore the stapes and the quiet giggling behind him. The bright yellow staircase lights seem to irritated Paul a bit and he rather wandered in Arts shadow. Finally they arrived in Arts flat. "Sorry, it's not really cleaned." Art couldn't believe that he literally apologised by a murderer. What was going on with him? He needed to keep a cool head. "No problem, you telling that somebody who life's in a old sewer." As soon as Arthur had open the wooden door, Paul rushed into the flat. The entrance had just some jackets and coats hanging on a Wardrobe. Art switched on the warm orange light and put his key beside. Paul, who was just stunned by everything, walked into the living room and immediately banged the door against the bookshelf. Some book dropped down on the ground. "Be carful my flat is so small that some doors are touching the furniture.", Art warned and put the books back into the shelf. Straight ahead there was a little retreat corner. Art's little retreat corner. In the corner there stood a red velvet chair, which was next to the window that was in the sloping outer wall. On the right side of the plushy chair there was a old red sofa. "Wow, it's so huge and here are so many books." "Firth this is a really tiny flat, because I don't have that much money. Secondly this is just one of my bookshelf's." Art went back in to the his own hallway and put his shoes in the shoe rack. "Hey, murderer! Your shoes are full of that black mud. Turn them out." Paul walked back immediately. Art rolled his eyes. It was pretty much to late anyways. Paul had already stained the living room. As Art wanted to turn out his coat and throw it in a basket with dirty clothes, he noticed that he still had Pauls guitar on the back. He toke it end brought it in his office, which he looked. Better this demon had no change to do his tricks. "Wait here. I don't want you to make everything dirty." Paul nodded, but still looked around with his bright eyes. Art shook his head. Paul behaved like he had never been in a house or a flat before. Art walked in the bathroom, which was an the left side of the living room and next to his office. He stooped down to get the cleaning stuff from under the mirror, but as always he bumped his head at the sink. "Au. F*ck this day!", he scolded. Art was about to cry. He was doing everything horrible wrong. Why? Why did he had invited a murderer in his home? "Are you okay?", Paul asked gently. "Shut the f*ck up!", Art yelled back. Art breathed heavily and expected a reaction from Paul, but there was nothing but silence. The detective drove though his blonde hair and started cleaning the black mud away. Than he went into his bedroom to get changed. After a little while he came back to Paul in his blue striped pyjama. Paul was still standing there. He didn't even moved an inch. "So, you can't sleep in this clothes there are full of dirt and smell." Paul shook his head in panic. "I never worn anything else!" "Yep, I can smell that. I will lean you my clothing." What the hell?, Art thought. He wanted to lean a god dammed murderer his clothes. Paul nodded shyly and without waiting he unbuttoned his black blazer and slipped out of his shoes.
In the meantime Art went in his bedroom to fish some fitting clothes out of his self. "You better going in the bathroom and take a shower." Art chose his orange turtleneck, black trouser and some of his underwear, so that Paul could wear something tomorrow until his clothings would be washed. Maybe he could buy him some new. No, what? They were supposed to have interrogation. Art toke his old green pyjama and went in the bathroom. He placed the clothing next to the shower and said:"Okay, you can come now." As Art wanted to walk out of the bath he nearly got a heart attack. A completely naked Paul just stood right in front of him. Paul must have understood him totally wrong and must have turned out all of his clothes. Art couldn't move. His eyes were still attached to Paul body. Paul instead wasn't even noticing a thing:"Well, I trough my things on the red carpet in our entrance. Why are you looking so confused? Did I do something wrong?" "Ähm..." Art begann. He begann to sweat and his mouth was dry. "You were supposed to undress fully in the bathroom.", Art stuttered as he tried to just focus on Pauls face. "Oh, I'm sorry. As I said never done anything like that before." And without even carrying that he was completely naked, Paul went into the bathroom. Art blinked, because he wanted to forget the temptation that had just presented itself to him.
As fast as possible he grabbed Pauls clothing and his bold stained coat and went down in the washing room. Still in shocked he begann to clean everything and started a laundry. Why did he liked what he had seen? Was this demon trying to manipulate him? Why didn't he just killed him or brought him to the office? Why did he even ran after this guitar noise? Well, it wasn't noice. The murderer was rather talented. Yep, in killing people with that thing. And actually this Paul was well builded and really cute. He kinda reminded Art of a rabbit. Yeah, a rabbit who just murdered people for... for what even? Art wanted to bang his head on something so badly. As the laundry started he went upstairs again.
Back in his flat he heard a desperate groan from the bathroom. Art immediately rushed into the bath. Paul, still naked, was tangled in the shower hose. Art couldn't help it. This was just so funny, that he started to laugh so hard. Paul looked put to him in confusion. "What? How is this thing working? There is no f*cking water. Where is the water? Stop laughing. Please help me.", Paul pleased desperately. "Okay, okay. Wait I will help you.", Art said finally after nearly die because of laughter. Art carefully unwired Paul and watched that he wouldn't tough his body to much. Pauls skin was so soft, but also really cold. Every human with that skin would have been hypothermic. "So and no you stand up. And open the tap. Than you make yourself wet, put the shampo on your body and than get wet again and than dry yourself with the towel." It was so agward to explain this simple things to an nacket adult killer. "Do I smell like you than?" "What the... What? I'm smelly and stinky right now. You know it's been a rough day because of you and I nearly lost my job. And now I have to babysit you! You! A murderer! I should kill you right now.", Art yelled. Paul starred at him with big puppy eyes and was about to cry. "Stop this shit! You trying to trick me, but I will ignore it!" "But you smell nice. You always smell so good." "Shut it!", Art was getting really angry right now. Paul noticed and turned around in shame. He went into the shower and started winseln. "You killed a human and now you are crying because I remember you that I should have killed you in the first place. Now take a shower!" Art went out and slammed the door. That just needed to be said. He went into his office. Great, no sleep tonight. Art toke a blank paper and started to right down questions for tomorrow. This demon probably couldn't kill him for some reasons, but he definitely tried to manipulate Art. The detective starred at the black wooden guitar, which was placed in front of him. The sound of ruining water was to be heard at his right side.
1. Why do you kill?
2. How do you kill?
3. How is this guitar connected with you?
4.Do you have a splitten personality?
5.Did you ever had a normal life?
6. How long are you living in the underground of New York
7.Can you read my mind?
8. Why don't you kill me?
9.Why are you listing to what I say?
10. What do know?
That was at least all Art could think about right now.
He placed the paper on the guitar and went over to Paul. Paul was now in Art's pyjama. Again Art couldn't help it. This just looked so damn it cute. Paul was way too small for Art's green pyjama. The sleeves just dangled down and Paul had turned the trousers over. There it happens again. Paul must used his magic. Art decide not to let it show. But it made Art mad. "This is it! I have enough! I told you to not use your powers or anything! I'm a detective and you a murderer. And this is not how it works. I will not seduced by your seductions." Without hesitating Art grabbed the handcuffs that he had in his offices as fast as possible. Art pulled Paul in a hard police grip and attached Paul to his bed. "Now sleep. And don't even think about moving. I don't care, if you need to sit there with one hand up the whole night. I need sleep. And you get that what a killer deserves." Art stood up and wanted to turn out the light and just sleep. But as wanted to just touch the switch, Paul kicked his legs and wailed:"No not here. I could get out of control. Either I destroy everything in here or I will sleep in and get out of control in a nightmare!" Art wanted to yell back, but actually after what this monster had done with the man, he could believe that. "I will turn on a little nightlight." Art still had a nightlight from his niece. His older brother already had a little baby and somehow the nightlight for baby's found it's way in Art's flat. So Art turned on the nightlight and switched of the main light. Paul immediately started focusing on the light. Actually Art just wanted to think about the whole situation again, but he was so tired from all that happened, that his eye fell on their own.
