Mortal Kombat II has several scenes that use an electrical arcing effect as part of portal teleportation, some of which have hardly any strobing, but others do. Other scenes have flashes of lightning, including the entire lineup of production company logos. There are several brightly-glowing sci-fi effects present mostly during the ends of fight scenes.
The camera motion is all very smooth, with some scenes depicting peril at extreme heights, and some other brief and mild disorienting camera work.
Flashing Lights: 8/10. Motion Sickness: 2/10.
TRIGGER WARNING: The violence in this movie is very bloody and gory.
BRANDON'S REVIEW: On its own, it may have some issues with flow and characterization, but as a sequel to a very forgettable movie, it exceeds its predecessor in every positive direction. The fight choreography and in-story stakes between the fights evoke echoes of the best action movies of the 80s, reminding us what works well when a film's premise is simple but interesting enough for a movie. Grade: A-.
