A petition campaign led to a screen debut in Japan!
In 2007, the staff of the cult classic The movie "Shaun of The Dead" reunited to create a new film called "Hot Fuzz." While it received rave reviews from overseas media and film fans, its theatrical release in Japan was almost certainly limited to DVD due to its low name recognition. ...However, one man with a bit of a tenacious spirit changed everything! Writer Rintaro Watanabe, who was captivated by the film, launched a petition online, gathering over 2,500 signatures and securing a theatrical release.
It achieved that goal! It was a hit, with sold-out screenings from the very first day of its release.
The film "Hotel Rwanda," a true masterpiece that was never released in Japanese theaters due to the distributor's circumstances, was finally released thanks to countless petition campaigns. "The Simpsons," whose dubbed version's voice actors were changed. And "Hot Fuzz." It is truly moving to see how the history of cinema has been changed by the power of fans who genuinely love movies.
Edgar Wright, who also directed and wrote the screenplay for "Hot Fuzz," is a British director.
A talented director from Squirrel. This film is packed with homages to his favorite blockbuster action movies and buddy movies, overflowing with respect and love for cinema. It's a genuine comedy with spicy British humor. Following the masterpiece "Shaun of the Dead," I promise it won't disappoint! Incidentally, director Edgar Wright apparently stayed at the home of film director Quentin Tarantino while making his film in L.A. Birds of a feather flock together, I suppose? 91
