Do you ever start seeing an artist’s work everrrrywhere all of a sudden?! B. Ingrid Olson is totally having a moment, with work in MoMA’s New Photography show, a solo show at the Albright-Knox, and a solo show at Simone Subal gallery. Like a lot of the work I’m interested in, it works between mediums — the plexiglass boxes make the work sculptural, and generate shadows that further complicate already confounding photographs, and the compositions are undeniably also painterly in the associations to cubism that they call up 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 #bingridolson #simonesubal #contemporaryart #contemporaryphotography
