Using rhythmic patterns and variations to drive his compositions, his music becomes a textural mass of loops, buried beneath deep swells of voice and audio manipulation Simo Soo (Syd) Simo Soo is a Sydney rapper/producer, touring Perth for the release of his 2nd album 'People Are Animals'. Released independently thru Bandcamp 'People...' finds Soo collaborating with HTMLflowers, Rainbow Chan, Oakland noise-pop band Religious Girls & more over 10 tracks of party/anti-party anthems mixing hip hop, post punk, IDM and R&B Supports from Eleventeen Eston Spirit Level $10 // 8pm

Silver Hills 'Plasticine Daydream' EP Launch Oct 4th

Plasticine Daydream is the debut EP from Perth Beachadelic Dream-gazers Silver Hills. Born out of a mutual infatuation with psychedelic soundscapes, Brownes Mocha Chill and feeling the Love Supreme, the band is comprised of five super-best-friends who make music they've always wanted to hear. The band patiently honed their sound under sleepy suburban skies before embarking on an intensive gigging schedule over the last six months, earning themselves praise through The Big Splash competition and picking up a support slot for Kirin J Callinan's Fremantle show. This will also be Silver Hills' last performance of 2013 and a farewell show of sorts as Mark goes to live in San Fran for a few months. . . . Helping us out on the night will be righteous buddies NEW ANIMALS SPACEMANANTICS and MITCHELL FREEWAY $5 // 8pm

  Young 19-year old UK beatmaker Pále heads to The Bird on his debut trip through Australia this September/October.
