Silver Hills 'Plasticine Daydream' EP Launch Oct 4th
Plasticine Daydream is the debut EP from Perth Beachadelic Dream-gazers Silver Hills. Born out of a mutual infatuation with psychedelic soundscapes, Brownes Mocha Chill and feeling the Love Supreme, the band is comprised of five super-best-friends who make music they've always wanted to hear. The band patiently honed their sound under sleepy suburban skies before embarking on an intensive gigging schedule over the last six months, earning themselves praise through The Big Splash competition and picking up a support slot for Kirin J Callinan's Fremantle show. This will also be Silver Hills' last performance of 2013 and a farewell show of sorts as Mark goes to live in San Fran for a few months. . . . Helping us out on the night will be righteous buddies NEW ANIMALS SPACEMANANTICS and MITCHELL FREEWAY $5 // 8pm

Friday 6 September - Brothers Hand Mirror, Wooshie, Outerwaves @ Gasometer
This is one of those events that showcase a defining overall "Melbourne sound" with a unique and original slant on hip-hop beats that can truly be called contemporary urban electronica. Screw "Melbourne Bounce", you need to be listening right here to understand where it's at.
Brothers Hand Mirror (beatsmith/vocalist Oscar Key Sung and singer/rapper/artist HTMLFlowers) are on tip with a lot of the warm, fuzzy bass-driven hip-hop sounds often called wonky or abstract, sounds more and more prevalent around Melbourne lately.
Their Bandcamp offers seven very nice treats for your listening pleasure, all available (with exception of the first EP, which is advertised as available at their shows) for free or pay as you please.
This special showing is complimented by the talented backing of Wooshie (of This Thing), Outerwaves, Tincture and 2 Bright Lake DJs. I'm definately giving this one the Haarp Media thumbs-up.
Tickets: http://bit.ly/14Uxg1E
Starts 8pm. The Gasometer, 484 Smith Street. $12.

The Townhouses - Talk feat. Giorgio Tuma (Outerwaves Remix)
This lovely remix from Melbourne based Outerwavers is the perfect thing for a Sunday chillout session.
The original track from Melbourne’s The Townhouses (Leigh Hannah), featuring Giorgio Tuma’s vocals, was already pretty wonderful. It had more of a melancholic tone to it which is somewhat uplifted by Outerwavers sunny synth sounds.
This track will be part of a bundle of remixes to be released by Yes Please Records. Keep an eye on the Yes Please Facebook page for release details.
