2. What movie have you watched most recently? What did you think of it?

i really hate to say this but the evidence is logged on my letterboxd so. sigh. my fiance found this horrible independent movie on roku live tv called closer to god, it’s a retelling of the story of job apparently and it was maybe the worst thing i’ve ever seen

3. what are you looking forward to right now?

i’m going to trivia night with my friends on sunday if all of our work schedules line up ! we got 2nd place last time and the guy who runs it told us we should go to a more competitive venue because he thought we’d have a lot of fun and i’m so sure he’s right im very excited for it

15. What's a piece of advice you find yourself giving a lot?

kill that guy. (not the best at advice unfortunately because that’s always my first answer. serious second answers usually vary)

What is your favorite time of day?

9. favorite time of day and why?

ironically it’s 5am/sunrise time and i’m dead serious. i love dawn i love the world waking up around me i love hearing the birds. when i was a kid going camping i would always be the first one up in the morning to go fishing or on a walk through the campgrounds before it was light out and that has absolutely transferred over into my adulthood because i work night shift now and am always so happy when i get off work early enough to watch the sunrise at home. ugh sunrise my beloved

Hi hi, thank you for the ask!! (For this ask game)

I feel like, as a httyd blog, saying I could give a TED talk about httyd is a bit obvious. I’m a bit rusty on the topic, but I could probably give one on the history of hysteria if I had a little bit of time for a refresher of it myself! I actually did a presentation on it in my senior year of high school, in my french class. Yes the presentation was in french, no I don’t really remember much french anymore unfortunately. Anyways yeah, the history of hysteria!

6. What's your hair routine like? Anything special?

Im actually just learning how to take care of my hair for the first time! Ive had it short most of my life but now its down to about my mid back and hella curly, so unless I want to take care of a rats nest I gotta do some extra maintenance.

Step 1. Clarifying shampoo

Step 2. Extra moisturizing conditioner

Step 3. Once the waters turned off, leave in conditioner (pro tip: look for something thin enough to be a spray rather than the consistency of regular conditioner)

Step 4. Hair lotion, first run through root to tip and then scrunched upside down

If im feeling extra fancy I blow dry with a diffuser, but usually I just scrunch with a towel and call it done!

7. what's your favorite way to travel? Is there a mode of travel you haven't done that you want to experience?

This is tricky, cause I get motion sick so usually any kind of travel is Bad. That being said, when I lived in Canada I loved taking the GO train! As far as a mode of travel I havent done... I dont know if this counts but ive always wanted to do an overnight train ride

11. what kind of music is stuck in your head a lot lately?

Specifically A Fever You Can't Sweat Out. The whole thing.

9. Favorite time of day and why?

Im very fond of late morning, I think because I do consider myself a morning person at heart but being narcoleptic earlier than like 11am gives me psychic damage

17. Do you believe in luck/have any superstitions

Just one! My fellow medical workers will be familiar. Never say "it seems quiet" or anything to that effect in a hospital or medical office. Some bullshit goes down every. Single. Time

3. I talked about getting to see Epik High on another ask buuuuut I am also looking forward to seeing what other stops BTS is going to add to the 2027 leg of their tour. Really hoping for somewhere driveable. ✨✨✨I am just going to go ahead and speak seeing them on arirang tour again into existence! ✨✨✨

10. ehhhhh I'm not what one would call "coordinated"?? but I do on occasion rock climb for my mental and physical health lol

3. it's so far off, and i don't want to wish time to fast forward because that will mean i am back in school and teaching again lol buuuuut I have a really fun concert coming up with a friend to see Epik High this fall!!!

9. oh, golden hour! i don't know if i can fully put into words why, but it just feels like magic to me to see the world bathed in that delicious little last bits of the sunlight before she trades off with the moon, blanketing everything in a soft glow and making everything feel romantic and warm and like a hug?? it feels like how fairytales feel inside my brain

Simple Ask Game 5, 13, 14, and 20

embarrassingly late to this game but we're just gonna roll with it

5. drink of choice (starting off with the complicated questions I see;))(i am a Drink Girly!) -- black coffee, chai latte (hot or iced), prosecco, yogi's throat tea, ginger ale... XD

13. You prune nonessential branches on tomato plants to help the energy go the ze babies. It is the opposite for cucumber plants, the extra leaves provide the energy, and one can only hope I have not totally destroyed my cucumber plant. #firsttimecucumbergrower

14. I'm going to get on my Teacher Soapbox now and this is to the General Public You and not You You: Read to your kids. Read with your kids. I don't care how old they are. I don't care if they're going into high school and you've never done it before, do it now! Find a book you all love and read a chapter together once a week or for half an hour after dinner. Have conversations about the book. Model your thoughts out loud as you read. Have conversations about books they're reading on their own. Ask them what they're enjoying about it, what pulled them in. Ask about the beginning/middle/end. I don't know is not an answer -- start with ONE detail and work your way up. Ask what they're learning from the book if applicable. Ask them the 5 W's about the book (who what when where why). Practice summarizing the book their reading (SWBST -> Somebody Wanted But So Then) Kids who read 20 minutes know SO MANY MORE WORDS than those who don't read or only read on occasion(some basic research for you here and here(check out her flow chart at bottom for some crazy numbers!)). If you don't know how to help them find books they like, help them have conversations with the librarian, because conversing with people you don't know is also a great skill to have in this day and age of digital everything. 20. damn. this is harder than i anticipated. i think i'd like if someone just sat down and asked me about me on occasion. i think because i'm the kind of person that enjoys helping other so much, it sometimes feels selfish to talk about me but ya know, sometimes it's just nice.
