Chapter 2
“You look nice!” Your mom smiled at you as you slowly stumbled down the stairs. “Going somewhere?”
“Just to the bars with some friends,” you mumbled. You’ve been 21 for a while now, but it still was an odd concept that you could go drink and come back home with your parents and they would be alright with it.
“You’re not driving are you?”
“No, Tyler ordered us an uber. I believe it’s picking him up first, then Josh, and then a few others before swinging by here.”
“Be safe!” Your mom shuffled over to you and placed a soft kiss on your temple.
“I will, Mom.” You waved to her as you headed outside to sit on your porch. It was around 8 pm and the sun was starting to set. That was your favorite part about it being May, are the late sunsets. You looked out towards the sky which was painted with deep red and orange strokes.
It was silent outside. Tranquil. Your heart was fluttering as you received a text in the group message.
Josh: almost to your place, Y/N
Tyler: be ready
You smiled to yourself as you quickly typed out a response.
Y/N: waiting outside. The sunset is pretty.
Josh: almost as pretty as Tyler
Tyler: awe, thanks dude
You locked your phone and took a deep breath as you gazed back up at the sky. There were two birds flying through the distance, and you wondered if they were in love. Birds could fall in love, right?
Sometimes you wondered if you would ever have someone to fly around with, metaphorically of course. You’ve tried the dating apps, you’ve tried having your friends act like wingmen, and you have even tried meeting someone at the bars but it wasn’t your thing. You couldn’t find yourself having those feelings, the ones you felt for a certain someone.
A certain someone that you knew did not share those same feelings as you.
A certain someone that you had fallen for about two years ago. A certain someone who has had a girlfriend for the past eight months. A certain someone that you had to act like you were just best friends with.
That certain someone just happened to be Tyler Joseph.
“Y/N!” your name was shouted from a distance. As you turned your head to gaze down the street, you spotted the Uber coming out and could see Josh sticking his head out the window.
“Hey guys,” you hopped into the back seat putting yourself next to Tyler who was sitting in the middle.
“Josh decided to take two shots back at the apartment before heading out, so he has been quite something tonight,” your friend giggled from the front seat.
“Of course he did,” you shook your head and you buckled yourself in. Your hand softly grazed against Tyler’s as you were trying to snap the buckle.
“Sorry,” you both mumbled in unison. Your cheeks felt hot so you decided to open the window.
“The sunset is really something, huh?” the uber driver broke the silence in the car.
“I would call it gorge babyyy,” Josh put an emphasis on the last syllable.
“Where is Jen?” you turned to Tyler who was busy playing a game on his phone.
“She had to study for a test coming up.”
“Ah,” you bit your bottom lip trying to hide the smirk that was making its way to your face. It wasn’t that you disliked Jen, she just wasn’t your favorite person to be around. You weren’t sure if it was because you hated how optimistic she was all the time, or if it was because she was dating Tyler.
Your feelings for Tyler were only known by one other person, Y/F/N, who sat in the front seat and made eye contact with you in the rearview as they eavesdropped on the conversation. They always had pushed you to be honest with Tyler, especially since if you had been honest with him a year ago, then he would have never started dating Jen in the first place.
The issue was that you were certain Tyler did not share those same feelings that you did, despite the fact that Y/F/N and Josh has mentioned once or twice that Tyler did like you.
Josh was busy explaining a story about how he sold three guitars at once during his last shift as the car pulled up to your favorite bar. It was usually filled with younger people, so you didn’t have to worry about older creeps.
“Josh, no one cares about your story!” Tyler teased him as everyone piled out of the car. You quickly stood next to Y/F/N as you grabbed your ID out of your wallet, following the boys into the bar.
“Who wants to start with shots?” the bartender greeted you all with a smile.
“I’m down!” you raised your hand and Tyler nodded, handing the bartender his card.
“Drinks are all on me tonight, so start the tab!” he shouted over the loud music. You looked over at him with wide eyes.
“Tyler! It’s going to be so expensive!”
“Don’t worry,” he flashed a smile your way.
“I love this song!” Josh shouted. Feels Like the First Time by Foreigner came pumping out of the speakers. The bartender handed each of you a shot glass filled with a ruby red liquid.
“On 3!” Y/F/N held up their hands and slowly counted down and in unison, you all tilted your heads back as the liquid burned down your throat.
“Jesus,” you mumbled. Shots were not your forte.
“What are you going to get to drink?” Tyler turned to you and you shrugged.
“Probably a mai tai.”
“Yummy,” Tyler licked his lips and you swear you couldn’t peel your eyes away from them.
“You?”
“Going with a beer.”
“That’s not very original, Joseph,” you teased.
“I don’t plan on getting wasted, especially when I know I will end up having to take care of mister smooth over here.” He pointed his thumb over his shoulder to Josh who was already making small talk with a group of girls.
You chuckled, “He can be a handful.”
“Y/N! Come dance with me!” Y/F/N rushed over and grabbed your hand, pulling you swiftly towards the direction of the dance floor. You looked back at Tyler who seemed to be smirking as you were being dragged away.
Single Ladies by Beyonce boomed over the speakers, and you followed Y/F/N’s footsteps as they flowed with the music. You kept on taking sips of your drink, knowing that only alcohol would be able to make you feel comfortable dancing.
The lights were dim and there was a disco ball overhead that punctuated the dark club with streaks of chaotic light. You were having a good time. The more you moved, the more the shot you had taken earlier mixed with your bloodstream.
The song was finishing up, and you excused yourself to get a refill on your drink. Y/F/N followed.
“Where are the boys?” you asked, scanning the crowded bar.
“Josh is back there on the dance floor so we should go back and join him!”
“I’m not drunk enough to dance with the Josh Dun,” you cackled. You spotted him twerking in the middle of a circle.
“He’s wild,” Y/F/N sipped on their new drink. You grabbed yours from the bartender and took a long gulp, trying to ignore the burn. You never understood how people enjoyed that feeling.
“I still don’t see Tyler.” You frowned.
“Oh, there he is! He’s on his phone!” You finally spotted him, sitting at the end of the bar with a beer in his left hand and the phone in his right.
“Party pooper,” you huffed. You took another gulp of your drink and waltzed over to him.
“I’m going to the dance floor with Josh!” Y/F/N called out and you shot them a thumbs up.
“What do you think you’re doing, Joseph?” you leaned against the bar and he looked up at you.
“Hm?”
“We’re supposed to be having a good time and you look like mister frowny pants over here! Moping over your phone.”
“It’s just Jen is being difficult, I guess apparently when she said it’s fine that I came out tonight she didn’t mean it.”
“That seems toxic,” the words slipped out of your mouth without you realizing what you had said. “Sorry, that was mean.”
Tyler chuckled and took a swig from his beer, “Nah, you have a point. I shouldn’t worry about her and have a good time with my friends who care about me.”
“We do care about you!” you agreed. “Want to go dance? Josh is being a maniac as usual.”
“I need another shot, I think.” He motioned for the bartender.
“I’ll join you.” The last thing you needed right now was another shot, but you thought you would be able to let loose more.
“On 3?” Tyler hands you the glass, this time filled with a clear liquid.
“On 3,” you agreed. You both swished the liquid down, and you couldn’t help but cough.
“I’m ready now,” Tyler spoke, chasing the shot with the rest of his beer. You two squeezed your way through the sweaty crowd until you caught a glimpse of Josh and Y/F/N.
“Tyler! Y/N!” Josh threw his hands up in the air and literally skipped over to you.
“How you feeling?” you asked him.
“Dude, spectacular!” he patted Tyler on the back and went back to the dance floor.
“Yes, this song!” you squealed as Livin’ On A Prayer came on. None of your friends had planned on getting this smashed, but you didn’t seem to care too much. You let yourself go and just flowed with the music. Your hips would sway to the beat and you closed your eyes as everyone sang the chorus together.
When you opened your eyes you were met with Tyler’s staring back at you. He came over to you and grabbed your hands and continued to playfully dance with you as if you were little kids dancing at a wiggles concert.
“We’re halfway there!” you both shouted. “Living on a prayer!” You were laughing more than singing, as Tyler dramatically pretended he had an invisible microphone.
The room was now spinning and it was difficult for you to keep your balance as you kept on stumbling over your two feet.
“Grab my shoulders!” Tyler shouted over the music and you did as he said as the music picked up.
“I love this song!” you slurred. Your hand somehow got intertwined with Tyler’s and he was twirling you in a circle.
“Me too,” he giggled.
“You’re giggly when you’re drunk,” you placed your hands back on Tyler’s shoulders so you wouldn’t fall over.
“You’re silly when you’re drunk,” he teased back. You stuck your tongue out at him and he rolled his eyes.
“I like this shirt,” you mumbled. You didn’t even notice, but Tyler’s hands were now on your waist. Probably just trying to keep you up straight.
“I like your shirt too,” he spoke softly. His vision became just as blurry as yours.
“I like you,” you whispered with a smirk. You looked up at Tyler, expecting him to move away from you, but instead, you watched his brown eyes move from your eyes to gaze down at your lips.
“Is that so?” his head moved closer towards you until your noses were practically touching. The heavy scent of alcohol burned your nostrils. Your heart was racing and felt like it was going to burst out of your chest. The alcohol was making it difficult for you to figure out what was reality.
“Mhm.” You bit your bottom lip innocently. Tyler’s lips were so close to yours that you could feel his hot breath on yours. He smelled like beer.
“Kiss me,” he reached his hand up so it was cupping your cheek and guided your lips to his. They softly collided and you melted away in his arms. You had dreamt of this moment for the past two years.
The background music dissolved in with the sounds of voices singing and the only thing you actually could hear was the sound of your own heart beating uncontrollably as you stood there, kissing your best friend.
Tyler abruptly pulled his face away from his and you met with a look of shock. His eyes were wide and all you could hear was him mumble “shit” before slipping away from you, leaving you standing alone in the middle of the crowd.
She had no choice Feugo threatened to release the last surviving picture of her smiling while wearing a pretty and frilly dress

Chapter 4
You shut your blinds violently as you started to get heated. The memory of him telling you that he doesn’t have feelings for you flooded your brain and you closed your eyes to try to remove them. Was he expecting you to go down there and talk to him, or was he going to have the courage to come to your front door and face your Mom?
You didn’t tell her what had happened, but she could have easily guessed you were upset about Tyler, since you have mentioned your feelings about him before. Right as you were about to walk downstairs, you heard the doorbell ring.
“I’ll get it!” you shouted quickly, making sure your Mom would not answer it before you.
“Okay,” she yelled back. It sounded like she was also in her room, so the downstairs should be free for you to tell Tyler that you did not want to talk to him, or even see him for that matter. At least not right now.
Sucking in a breath, you grabbed the doorknob and opened it. Tyler stood there, hands in his jeans pockets, and a beanie over his ears. He kept his gaze down as he muffled a hi.
“What are you doing here?” you crossed your arms. “Look at me.”
Tyler snapped his eyes up at your bitter tone. “I came to apologize.”
“I don’t need to hear it.” You backed up into the house and started to close the door, but Tyler’s hand whipped out to stop it.
“Please, Y/N. I need to be honest with you.”
You sighed in defeat and opened the door all the way, welcoming him inside your house.
“Why are you deciding to be honest with me now?”
Tyler rubbed the back of his neck, “Because I was scared, Y/N. I messed up bad.”
“By kissing me?”
He shook his head, “No, by not telling you how I felt earlier on. For being so oblivious.”
You scoffed, “Well said.”
“You know, you could have told me how you felt too.”
“Excuse me?” you laughed at his statement.
“Like if you had feelings for me too, Y/N, why didn’t you ever tell me?”
“Because I didn’t think you shared them and I didn’t want to get rejected and ruin our friendship,” you admitted.
“That’s exactly why I didn’t tell you either.” Tyler’s voice was soft.
“So, we both just didn’t say or do anything because we both were afraid of losing each other?”
“I guess so,” Tyler nodded his head slowly. You chewed on a hangnail, trying to figure out what to say next.
“I guess I should apologize then,” you stammered. “I’m sorry, Tyler, for not telling you.”
“You don’t need to apologize though, Y/N. It was me. I was the one who lied to you and ran out on you. You didn’t deserve any of that and all I want is for you to be happy.”
Your face softened a little at hearing his words, “Do you mean that?”
“Yes, Y/N! I mean it with my whole heart and I wish I told you because it was so dumb of me to try to get over you.”
You sniffled, “What about Jen?”
“I told her the truth and we ended things.”
“I’m sorry to hear that,” you whispered.
“It was the right thing to do, plus she said that she knew that I still had feelings for you so it was only fair for both of us.”
“So you do have feelings for me?” you walked over to Tyler and looked into his brown eyes.
“Yes, I do.”
You bit your bottom lip as you fought a smile, “I have feelings for you too and I can’t believe it took a simple mistake for us to finally realize it.”
Tyler chuckled, “I don’t think it was a mistake at all. That kiss felt so right, like we were doing exactly what we were supposed to.”
“We were drunk.”
“We aren’t drunk now,” Tyler tipped your chin up with his hand and you shuttered as his fingers grazed against your skin.
“This is true,” you breathed. Tyler’s lips got closer to yours.
“Can I kiss you?” he asked and you nodded.
The kiss sent sparks flying through your body, and for once, you felt a weight relieved off of your shoulders. This was what you were missing. You sighed when he pulled away, already missing the feelings of his soft lips.
“Now that was not a mistake.” You smirked.
“Y/N, will you be my girlfriend?” Tyler asked, reaching down to grab both your hands.
“Isn’t it a little soon? You just got out of a relationship less then two hours ago.”
“Okay, you’re right,” Tyler huffed. “How about a date then? We can get thai food at our favorite place tonight and then we can go back to my place and watch a movie.”
“Sounds like a date.” You stood on your tippy toes as you planted a peck on Tyler’s cheek.
“Thank you for giving me a chance,” he whispered.
“Thank you for being honest with me,” you smiled back. Tyler pulled you in for a hug, his arms wrapping around you and your head resting on his chest. His cologne filled your nose and butterflies danced in your tummy. You never wanted to let go.
“We should go to a bar again soon, too. You were pretty good on the dance floor with a few drinks in you.”
You laughed, “Sure, and then we can make even more simple mistakes.”
Tyler kissed you one last time, “that was definitely not a mistake.”
THE END.

Chapter 2 || next chapter
Your POV
You jolted awake as you heard shouting coming from the hallway. The moment you sat up, a throbbing pulse formed in the back of your head. You winced out of pain and looked around at the unfamiliar room.
“What the?” you mumbled to yourself. It took you a moment to recall where you were, but soon you recognized that it was Josh’s room. You were in Tyler and Josh’s apartment.
Tyler.
You brought your fingertips to touch your lips as you remembered kissing him last night. You knew that you wanted to try to escape out of their apartment before you saw either of them, knowing that they would want to talk about last night.
The idea of changing back into the clothes you were wearing last night did not sound appealing, so wearing Josh’s pajamas would have to do. You checked your phone and realized you had a missed call from your Mom and a few texts from Y/F/N. Calling your Mom was the most important, as she had no idea where you were.
“Mom?” you spoke softly into the phone as you heard her pick up.
“Y/N! I was so scared!”
“Sorry, I had too much to drink and ended up staying over at Tyler and Josh’s.”
“I wish you could have told me! You were safe right?” she asked.
“Yes, I’m safe.”
“No, like did you use protection?”
“What? No! Gross!” you whispered-shouted into your phone. You realized your mom thought you went back to their apartment to sleep with one of them.
“I just assumed-”
“No, ew Mom, that’s so far off of what happened. I don’t really feel like talking about it, but I’ll be home in a little bit. I’m sorry for scaring you.”
“It’s okay, honey. You’re okay and that’s all that matters! Love you.”
“Love you too, Mom. Bye.”
“Bye.” Silence buzzed in your ear for a few seconds before you pulled the phone away. You needed to leave, but you could still hear Tyler and Josh talking in the hallway. Your Mom always taught you not to eavesdrop, but she also taught you not to drink too much, what’s one more mistake?
You leaned your ear against the door, trying to make out what the boys were saying.
“Can you just tell me what happened, Tyler?” Josh’s voice boomed.
“Didn’t they tell you?” Hearing Tyler made your stomach turn.
“Yes, but I want to hear it from you.”
“I kissed them, Josh! Is that what you wanted to hear? I cheated on Jen and those feelings I pushed down came right back up.”
“Tyler-”
“No, Josh, you don’t even understand!” Tyler was screaming now, pain very apparent in his tone. “I tried so hard to get over them knowing that they didn’t share the same feelings and then I started dating, and now I find out they do like me! Do you understand what situation I’m put in now! I don’t even know what to do!”
Your heart dropped as you heard those words come out of Tyler’s mouth. He just admitted to having feelings for you.
“What the hell am I supposed to do now?” you muttered under your breath. Your hand was still resting on the door knob but you slowly retreated away. Facing Tyler after hearing that he has feelings for you was the last thing you wanted to do.
You walked over to Josh’s bed and sat down, hands on your knees. With slow breaths, you tried your best to go over what had just happened in the last 24 hours.
You, Y/N, have had feelings for Tyler for the longest time but never pursued them because you knew, or thought you knew, that he didn’t share them. Tyler Joseph also has feelings for you, but tried to push them down by dating Jen, and now he has finally confessed he does in fact have feelings for you.
Tyler and you both have feelings for eachother and you two kissed last night. Drunkenly, but it was still a kiss. Maybe drunk thoughts really do bring out the sober feelings.
What would be the worst thing to happen if you went out there and saw Tyler. You would have to talk about it? Isn’t that the right thing for you to do? Or maybe because he was dating Jen that you should just pretend it never happened. Maybe you and Tyler were just meant to be really good friends.
You rubbed your temples with your fingers as all the thoughts swirled around and your hangover was making your head pound. This was all too complicated, and you wished that the kiss has never happened in the first place.
Y/F/N’s words of the feelings around Tyler hurried back to you and you threw your body back onto the bed. Texting them might be a good option, especially since you were still too scared to leave Josh’s room. You grabbed your phone from the desk and opened their messages. There were quite a few, all asking about if you were okay and if there are any updates.
Y/N: hey, sorry just woke up haha, i’m really confused and i just don’t know what to do. I’m stuck in josh’s room and i heard them have an argument
Y/F/N: dude don’t apologize but what were they arguing about?
Y/N: about the kiss. I heard tyler say he has feelings for me
Y/F/N: excuse me what!!! Bro!!!
Y/F/N: wait but jen dude…
Y/N: i also heard him say he's dating jen to try to get over me or something like that. Idk what to do!!
Y/F/N: talk to him, duh. Make sure he is honest with jen too.
Y/N: i’m scared
Y/F/N: you are a badass and i believe in you. You can do this
You smiled down at the text from your best friend. They always knew exactly what to say. With a deep breath, you swung your legs so you were standing up and headed towards the door. As if on cue, you hear a knock right as your hand landed on the handle. You slowly opened the door to reveal Tyler standing there, mid-knock, with wide eyes.
“Y/N”
“Tyler”
You both said in unison. Your cheeks blushed as you stepped to the side to allow Tyler room inside the room. Eyeing him closely as he strutted over to the window, you noticed that he was blushing as well. The tips of his ears always got bright red like a cheery.
“I wanted to apologize for last night,” Tyler started. His voice was soft, and you weren’t sure what he meant with his sentence.
“There’s no reason to apologize.”
Tyler chuckled to himself, “I’m sorry for kissing you, Y/N. I shouldn’t have done that. I have a girlfriend, and we are just friends.” His serious demeanor made your skin rise with goosebumps.
“What?” you squeaked, feeling like an ant underneath a boot.
“What do you mean ‘what?’”, he stared out the window, not wanting to make eye contact with you, knowing that the moment he landed on your E/C eyes, he would get lost once again.
“I-, we, the k-kiss was okay,” you stumbled with your words. Your heart was pumping faster.
“It was nothing, we both were drunk, and it didn’t mean anything.”
You gulped down the knot forming in the back of your throat, “Nothing at all?”
“No, Y/N, I don’t have feelings for you. I have feelings for Jen and that’s all.”
“You’re lying to yourself,” you spoke up, anger now fueling your words instead of sadness.
“What?” Tyler turned around so he was facing you, but his eyes stayed locked to his bare feet on the white carpet.
“I-I heard you!” you raised your voice a little. “Earlier today when you were talking with Josh. You admitted to having feelings!”
“Y/N,” he looked up at you. “I had feelings for you but they’re gone now. I’m sorry.”
“Tyler,” you said defeatedly. You didn’t want to believe him, he was still lying about it.
“Josh made breakfast but I think it’s best if you go now.”
Ty.” You watched him walk away from you slowly, wanting to run after him but your feet stayed where they were. This was not how you wanted the conversation to go.
Your heart felt like a glass plate that was thrown down the stairs. You weren’t exactly sure what you were the most upset about. The fact that Tyler was lying to you or the fact that Tyler doesn’t have feelings for you. Both disappointed you.
With just a few steps, you found yourself walking out of the tiny apartment, avoiding gaze with either Tyler or Josh who were both in the kitchen.
“Y/N?” Josh peeped from the kitchen, confused as to why you were rushing out the door. You shook your head as you ignored him and shut the door behind you. Tears were beginning to form but you quickly rubbed them away. You were not going to let yourself cry over Tyler Joseph.
You were partly expecting Tyler or Josh to come out after you, but in the time of calling an Uber and getting picked up, neither of them showed. You imagined that the two boys were already starting to argue about what had happened.
The moment you got back home, the questions from your Mom came but you deflected each and every one. This was the last thing that you wanted to talk about, especially with your mom. You knew she was just trying to help, but space is what you really needed. And maybe a nap.
A nap to avoid the world and ignore the consequences of a simple mistake.

Chapter 3 || next chapter
Tylers POV
“Tyler, bro, what in the name of God did you do?” Josh shouted. I flinched at his harsh words after the apartment door slammed with a thud.
“Oh my god,” I groaned into my hands. “Josh, I screwed up.”
“Yeah, you did!” Josh gestured to the door with the spatula he was holding in his hand.
“I told her I don’t have feelings for her,” I admitted. It sounded like a good idea at the time, but now I realized that I had just, yet again, lied to Y/N.
“Idiot!” Josh slapped my stomach with the same spatula.
“I need to tell Jen, right?” I looked over at my best friend with pleading eyes. I needed to hear his advice. “Josh?”
He sucked in a breath, “I think you should do the right thing.”
I wrinkled my eyebrows as I tried to make sense of his answer. “What?”
“You know exactly what I mean, now eat some breakfast or I’m never cooking again!” Josh threw the spatula dramatically onto the kitchen counter and walked into the living room.
I wanted to do the right thing. I really did, but I just didn’t know what the right thing was. Well, I think I had an idea but it was going to be difficult. You never wanted to hurt someone, especially someone he cares about.
I headed back to my room and grabbed my phone. I scrolled through my contacts until her name popped up, the picture of us together as the contact ID. I softly clicked on it, and brought it up to my ear. The familiar ring rang in my ears until a soft voice chirped up.
“Ty?”
“Hi, Jen,” you sighed.
“What happened?” she sounded distressed.
“I need to be honest with you right now, Jen.”
“Okay.”
“I’m sorry because I know this is going to hurt you and please believe me that i never meant to hurt you.”
“Tyler, just tell me,” she snapped, interrupting your rambling.
“I kissed Y/N, last night, and I first thought it was a drunken kiss that didn’t mean anything but now I realized it’s because I still have feelings for them, but I don’t want to be lying to myself anymore, or lying to you. You deserve someone who will love you unconditionally because Jen, you truly are a wonderful woman and I do love you but I am not in love with you. I’m really sorry.” I waited anxiously for her reply as all I could hear was her soft breaths on the other side of the phone.
“Tyler, I know,” she sputtered.
“What?” I was confused.
“I know you are in love with Y/N. I knew before we got together, and I know you said you were over her, but I could still sense those feelings for her. I thought maybe I was helping you get over her, but I guess I was wrong.”
It’s not like that, I thought I did get over her, but I think I was just lying to myself.”
“Exactly, Tyler,” Jen sniffled. “You need to go be with her.”
“Jen, I’m sorry.”
“No, Tyler it’s okay. I’d rather be broken up with than being lied to and wasting time.” Her voice was a mixture of disappointment and relief.
“We can still be friends right? I don’t want to lose you.”
“Yes, Ty, we can still be friends. Thank you for being honest with me. I’m not upset, maybe a little disappointed, but it’s okay.” Her tone sounded genuine.
“Thank you, Jen. Again I’m really sorry.”
“It’s okay.”
“Bye, Jen.”
“Bye, Tyler.” I held the phone to my ear for a few seconds after the buzzing came. That was one of the most difficult things i’ve ever had to do, but now I have to go to what might be the scariest thing of my life. Confess to Y/N.
I don’t know what is going to happen because I lied to them, and what if they do not want to be with me because I am a liar? What if I just lost two important people in my life?
I decided that it would be a good idea to explain to Josh what I just did, and get his input on how I should tell Y/N. Josh always knew what to do.
“I broke things off with Jen. I told her the truth,” I admitted as I sat next to him on the couch. I could feel his gaze, but I kept my eyes down.
“I knew you knew what the right thing was. You’re going to tell Y/N the truth as well, right?”
I nodded, “I just don’t know how. I don’t feel like it should be over the phone. Breaking up with Jen on the phone was already crappy enough.”
Josh hummed, “Yeah, you should go over to her place and tell her exactly how you feel and then see what happens from there.”
“I’m worried about rejection because I lied to her.” I picked at a hangnail.
“That’s why you should never ever lie, not to yourself and not to anyone.”
“Thank you, Josh. For always being there and giving me advice.” I patted his knee and then grabbed my keys on the coffee table.
“I’ll always have your back, dude. I love you.”
“I love you too, Josh. I think I need to go tell someone else I love them too,” and with that, I headed out to my car and drove over to Y/N’s house. My hands never stopped sweating.
Your POV
“Boys are so stupid!” you spoke over the phone to Y/F/N.
“Not all boys,” they giggled. “You just need to find the right person, Y/N!”
“But Tyler is the right person. If he wasn’t then I would have been able to get over him years ago.” You gnawed on your bottom lip. You really wish that you were able to get over Tyler Joseph, but he was your best friend, and you had fallen in love with him. If you had been able to get over him like he got over you, then the kiss would have never happened.
“There is a reason why that kiss happened and both of you haven’t gotten over each other. Don’t you understand? You two have feelings for each other.”
“But that doesn’t mean we should do something about them!” you argued. “He lied to my face, and he also kissed another person while in a committed relationship. They say once a cheater always a cheater.”
“You’re being dramatic, Y/N, but I’m just a person and I can only tell you advice. It’s up to you if you listen.”
“Hm,” you thought for a second. Y/F/N had a point, but everything was still cloudy. You barely have gotten over the excitement of kissing Tyler in the first place.
“I need to go, Y/N, but text me if you need anything at all, okay?”
“Okay, bye.”
“Bye.”
You hung up your phone and placed it on the charger. Your screensaver flashed and you looked at the picture of you, Josh and Tyler at one of their shows. You took a second to focus on the details of Tyler. The way his eyes almost seemed to twinkle when he flashed a smile, and his hair stood up on it’s own despite the fact he doesn’t wear any product in it. You could practically remember the smell of the cologne he was wearing that exact night. He always smells good.
A honk from outside your bedroom window woke you from your daydreams. You shuffled over and pulled back the curtains to reveal a car. A car that you recognized as Tyler’s.
What was he doing here?
