Claws: Van vs Kai

@wanderingmercenary vs. @simple-and-clean358 Coin Toss: Van strikes first

“We began this bracket with a vampiric and a lycanthropic and now we have a match between two different lycanthropics! What was that saying about lone wolves howling alone?”

“We can see our competitors transforming now, with Van rising in height into the wolf-bear hybrids that wolfskin are known for. Meanwhile, Kai has grown into a large, white wolf. I’m not familiar with their race, but all the same, it shall be a good match to watch.”

VAN: 9 strike ; 19 defense 

KAI: 4 strike v. 14 defense

VAN: 4 strike v. 10 defense

KAI: 14 strike v. 12 defense

Kai manages to get behind Van and pounces on the wolkskin like an Akita leaping onto a bear. This knocks Van forward, breaking his concentration and Van reverts back into his human form.

VAN: 19 strike v. 14 defense

Just after reverting back, Van rolls and cuffs Kai with his elbow, catching the white wolf hard enough to break concentration. Kai shifts back into human form as well. . . 

“It looks like this has just become a fist fight, rather than a furred one!”

KAI: 18 strike v. 19 defense

VAN: 12 strike v. 12 defense

The pair get each other into competing holds, with one in a headlock while the other is grappled around their middle. They growl and break apart to strike again.

KAI: 15 strike v. 11 defense

VAN: 5 strike v. 7 defense

KAI: 14 strike v. 4 defense

Kai reaches up to touch the necklace given to them as a favor before lunging forward in the final strike. For a moment, it looks like it will miss, but the white wolf-shifter connects, landing a last hit against Van and winning the match.

“Bravo! It looks like our white wolf friend will be continuing on to the next round!”

Lances Round 2: Sky vs Azura

@simple-and-clean358 vs. @hitoriomcu Coin Toss: Azura strikes first

“You are the ocean’s gray waves~ No? Maybe I’d sound better if I tried her son’s version.”

“I’m only here to judge lance duels, Chrom, not your singing. But perhaps we should leave the singing for our bardic friends.”

AZURA: 13 strike v. 18 defense

SKY: 3 strike v. 4 defense

AZURA: 3 strike v. 10 defense

SKY: NAT 1 STRIKE v. 13 defense

Sky swings his lance like a sword for a moment, as if he momentarily forgot what weapon he was wielding. Azura uses the opening and comes in close for a bonus strike, scoring herself a point.

AZURA: 15 strike v. 2 defense

SKY: 15 strike v. NAT 1 defense

Sky hits Azura hard, sending her recoiling back. He lunges forward to get another stab at her, but Aqua pivots on her foot, narrowly avoiding a second strike.

“Things aren’t looking very good for Sky, currently. With the way he’s wielding that lance, it’s clear he has weapons’ experience but not quite matching the ones we’ve provided. Maybe he uses a hybrid usually?”

“I’m not sure. It looks like he might be more accustomed to swords.”

AZURA: 7 strike v. NAT 20 defense

Sky lifts his spear in a perfect block. For a moment, Azura’s weapon is stuck on his, and he twists his to the side, trying to create an opening for his own strike. But Azura gets her spear free and jumps back to avoid getting hit.

SKY: 17 strike v. 17 defense

AZURA: 4 strike v. 10 defense

SKY: 13 strike v. 18 defense

"Strong defenses here, with no points being conceded either away. Unfortunately, that doesn't benefit Sky who needed to come back from behind."

“Congratulations, Lady Azura! You are going to the semi-finals.”

AZURA VICTORY!!!

Lances: Sky vs Niroshen

@simple-and-clean358 vs. @princessoffell Coin Toss: Sky strikes first

“Our third lances round, and we have two competitors who are favor and flowerless! This shall be a fight for the purists in the audience, nothing but good, old-fashioned lance skill.”

“This might be one of the only matches in the tournament without any favours or flowers. Whilst those flourishes are nice, it’ll be good to watch something more traditional.”

SKY: 5 strike v. 17 defense

NIROSHEN: 8 strike v. 15 defense

SKY: 9 strike v. 11 defense

NIROSHEN: 6 strike v. 6 defense

Sky and Niroshen meet in the middle, their spears locking together at the pole. They break apart, both turning lances around to find a new plan of attack.

SKY: 18 strike v. 7 defense

NIROSHEN: 2 strike v. 10 defense

“A hit! These two are so evenly matched, I was beginning to wonder if it would be a stalemate.”

“I suppose it shouldn’t come as a surprise that the lances locked, given the length of those things. Still, there’s more potential for a glissa- do rapier terms crossover with other weapon types?”

SKY: 8 strike v. 19 defense

NIROSHEN: 14 strike v. 14 defense

Again, the warriors clash and meet with locked lances. They give each other a good-natured glare, obviously getting into the combat but holding no hard feelings. They break apart, ready for the last moments of the fight.

SKY: 2 strike v. 5 defense

NIROSHEN: 2 strike v. 19 defense

“Who would have thought this lance match came down to one strike! This just goes to show how skilled these two warriors are, everyone. Congratulations, Sir Sky!”

We are not publishing check-in asks as overall, there will be 123 check-ins if everyone sends it.

Anybody who has not checked in yet will be tagged in a post once Mod Chrom has finished updating the private check-in list. What do we do if hypothetically the person we should be competing against ignores us in regards to the rp portion of tournaments?

The battles themselves are written purely by the mods. Any input from you guys is up to both muns, if they wish it. If somebody is too busy to reply to their opponent, it will have no bearing on the result.
