Waiting for The Alarm
In the blue dim room, cuddled up with a soft blanket, we rest together. We haven’t been asleep long, maybe a couple hours, but I am just happy to be next to you. In an while, you will leave our cozy bed to put your uniform on, but for now, I drink in this moment. Your face, barely lit by the light of my humidifier across the room, accentuating your cheeks and lips. Your deep breathing as your body rests. I do not want this moment to pass. For now, I wrap myself around you, shielding you a little from the reality of our 3a.m wake-up call. Lovingly resting next to you, trying to delay the moment we begin to split ways.
