Making pyjama bottoms
This is a really simple project - really great if you’re a beginner. There’s only one pattern piece.
The only adjustment I made was:
shorten the leg length by 8 inches (This is a unisex pattern, so the length is drafted quite long.)
I used the size S but I think the XS would have been fine too. The design is very loose fitting.
There wasn’t a big selection of brushed cotton in my local fabric shop. I did consider a poplin, but I really wanted something warm for winter. So, I settled on this check pattern.
My pattern matching is not great. I wanted to match the horizontal stripes at the centre front and centre back seams, as these are the most visible. I didn’t really manage to match the vertical stripes.
I sewed a small button to the front, so I can tell the difference between front and back.
I left out the drawstring as the elastic alone works fine.
I’m pleased with these pyjama bottoms. I’ll get a lot of wear out of them.
