YUMA KAGIYAMA THE SKATER THAT YOU ARE
When a guy has a mole on his neck roll
I literally can’t think of anyone but Milly as Valaena. Come on you guys. Her character, her looks…just so on point (!!!)
It’s like she is the reincarnation of her young and rebellious mother lol love her for that <3
THE PURPLE EYES ARE PERFECT
Ugh milly was so good, Valaena is rhaenyra if she’d grown up with a golden child older brother and never felt the pressure of being the heir lmfao
Absolutely Amazing Argent Art, yes not just triple A, but QUADRUPPLE A, from the extremely talented @minoruru . Commissioned for me (as a secret surprise no less) from @luck-and-larceny , @dumb-hat and the love of my life @mymistymornings ! I could not be more happy with the talent displayed here by @minoruru in capturing how they described him, because he’s PERFECT. This is exactly how he’s supposed to be! THANK YOU!!
OMFG YOU DID IT. THANK YOU SO MUCH I’M LAUGHINADLKASLDKJHA
The Bridge Podcast
A.k.a. “No one really understands water”
The Bridge is a fantasy (with just a hint of horror) podcast. And it is very real. So so very real. I have a single word that properly describes it: sublime.
In the creators’ words, it’s “about the monsters we fear, the monsters we can become, and the stories we leave behind”. Sooooo welcome to the Transcontinental Bridge, built over the Atlantic! Find a (very) secure Watchtower (especially the 10th one) and get yourself comfortable! You will hear Etta talking about folklore and found family! She searches the bridge for the spookiest stories she can find and shares them with the world. Or just Frank. No, no, wait, the whole world. Really, Frank?!
But the bridge has many secrets and it holds the key to destroying the world or. Y’know. Save it. Feat Mockingbirds, (fast, on the side) which are weird voices that might or might not be of your [redacted], creepy cults (regular voice again) and Bob, who’s a cutie. Haha. Nothing weird here, please move along and enjoy your journey! :D
The Bridge talks about connection and isolation, loneliness, fear, depression. It’s not sad, though, maybe eerie and nostalgic, maybe full of dor, but… not sad. The characters are relatable, lovable and beautifully portrayed. They find themselves in different states: searching for someone, searching for something, searching for themselves, but they are all unable to move on, stuck in their own skin or on the bridge. They all have a mission, a reason to be there, and they are not giving up. And the thing is, maybe they found a family in each other, after all. But of course, it’s not just about that. It’s about faulty tech systems, story lovers and story tellers, grumpy bosses, rom-coms and plants enthousiasts, double agents and all the interactions that make them care about each other.
The imagery remains with you for a while. (I just. Had to lie down. Stare at the ceiling. Because too beautiful. And I. Too in awe.) Alex Brown and Rebecca Mahoney, I love you. And I love the concept of “story within a story” too, it’s like you sign up for one and you get 6543568 as a reward.
I love the music. It is not happy, but not sad either, not really. It’s… haunting. I do hope you don’t run out of superlatives for Sara Fairchild (even though she’s not the only one that deserves them).
They credit people like “[actor name] as creepy laughter/ interference/ mysterious voice” and it cracks me up every time. Plus we always get bloopers at the end. And you just gotta see the scripts, they are a treat.
Even though the subject it’s not explored yet in the show, we got a confirmation that at least 3 characters are queer, so, naturally, I jumped for 5 minutes around the house when I found out. Also, they portray depression in a realistic manner, which is very important to me. I am in love with this podcast. Have I said it enough? Is this enough love to make it surpass all the podcasts I listen to and become my favorite (along with The Penumbra, because you can’t make me choose between my babies)?? I’d go with yes!!! Aaaaaaa. I mean, ahem. Composed.
They have a tumblr, @thebridgepodcast, and here’s their website.
