I usually do not give outerwear much thought for non-European sims I intend to populate San Simeon with (native Filipinos and southern Chinese immigrants) since technically, snow doesn’t exist down here and I shouldn’t sweat that stuff much.
This is fortunate because there’s hardly any stuff I could simprovise for period-accurate colonial Filipino peasantwear that also works as outerwear for either gender (the rich can flat out dress like Europeans). After playing around with a few things, I did manage to fudge this, which is pretty close to those grass raincoats once used in the colonial era. Heck there’s hardly a lot of period-appropriate outerwear for European sims as well.
I encounter a similar problem with period-appropriate pregnancy clothes.
