New Years: Ken Tells A Joke

Ken is having a drink at the bar with Jane on their first date.

Ken: So, Jane...

Jane: Yes, Ken?

Shandra: Don’t do it, Ken, doooon’t do it.

Shandra sees the train wreck coming but is powerless to stop it.

Ken: Did you hear what happened to the guy who shoplifted a calendar on New Year’s Eve?

Jane: No, what?

Ken: He got 12 months!

Jane stares at him with a blank look on her face.

Ken: (cracking up) Get it? Twelve months?

Jane: Yes. It’s a simple joke. I get it. 

Jane awkwardly studies her drink while Ken sits quietly, looking embarrassed. Shandra suppresses a giggle. She feels bad for Ken, but at the same time, she finds the situation extremely funny. Much funnier than one of Ken’s jokes anyway.
