Hi, everyone! I’m thrilled to share that I was interviewed about my Sims 2 machinima for a GamesRadar+ article that published this week. The article celebrates the Sims franchise’s 26th anniversary. The author Jasmine looks back at the YouTube and fan community that created Sims 2 music videos and machinima series. 

I had a fun walk down memory lane revisiting my old videos and discussing the videos that I have coming up this year. Please give it a read if you have a few minutes!

Not sure if you've seen it, but there's a 101 slide presentation on Sims 2 development on Andrew Willmott's webiste: https://www.andrewwillmott.com/talks/shipping-sims-2 It's an overview of multiple technical challenges they faced developing Sims 2 and how they attempted to overcome them. Starting at slide 50 he shares some information about graphics card configurations, memory leaks, virtual memory, resource management. I don't understand much of that, but it sounds like it might potentially help with the pink soup research so I figured you might be interested

Hi! Yeah, I was aware of it and it's really interesting, but unfortunately pretty useless for the pink flashing issue specifically because he's giving more of a broad overview than detailed info. I would love to see a recording of his presentation, that would probably have more info.

Buuuuut I just remembered that someone asked me about this ominous object limit a few weeks ago to which I said we have no proof of its existence. Well, on slide 56 Willmott says they used 96bit keys, so the game should support 2^96 Resource ID/GUID/Instance UID triplets. Which is a lot and no one is ever going to hit that lol
