Their memories aren't fully wiped out, there are still instances where Tord still appears in their minds. Edd experiences dreams, Tom can see silhouettes, and Matt can hear his voice. These things are only triggered by certain things (ex. A red/black hoodie will remind either of them of a memory of Tord)

In this AU the events of The End did not exist. When Tord left, everything that has happened took place in the simulated world. (Despite being simulated some things may still be real like the vampire that lead to Matt being one/or when Edd gained his powers)
